@Wishawk Here is 3 years old link to Bender…he is bad news… Background on Bender… He might be the actual reason why Kasongo was not admitted to Oregon. Here is a recent link with more details about Bender… Story on Oregon and Bender… And here is another one with more details… Read more… After reading the links above, I am not surprised KU would pass, and I would be really surprised if any major program takes him.

@wissoxfan83 Ah, it’s the dilemma. Actually I do watch the Bears, but only when they don’t play Green Bay. I love going down to Chicago, especially on the sunny weekends when they have soccer at Soldier Field.

@drgnslayr Thanks for replying. I may appear to blame the players, but really I’m not. I know my place and I’m not the one who was on the court. So it really is just questions that I can’t answer. I don’t have a lot of BB knowledge to dive in and give any technical analysis. I know this team has weakness, but it’s my understanding Stanford is not an exceptional team. By looking at the numbers, outside of Wiggins and Tharpe, the team appeared to have performed to their average. If Wiggins had the average output, we’d have scored around 70, and if Wiggins had a super human game, we’d hit 85. The team played according to Coach’s plan, and they attacked the paint (stubbornly, some said), and actually got Stanford big men into foul trouble, but we didn’t capitalize when their big guy sat. So I’d like to hear from the more knowledgeable posters here of the breakdown of the game and show how the individual players did something successfully while did something incorrectly. Basically the nuts and bolts of the game. Basketball is a team sport, so they either succeed as a team or fail as a team. But it’d be interesting to look at how and which piece broke down and caused some of the processes to fail. Maybe Wiggins was at the right place and right time, but none of the supporting cast was, so Wiggins couldn’t do anything about it. There got to be some explanations why Wiggins only touched the ball so few times and score so few points.

@wishawk @careful_you you’re right CY… Thanks for sharing this wishawk… it IS great. I need to smell the roses. “hmm… how the hell do we get this to render in markdown syntax…”, was the only thing that crossed my mind when you posted this, instead of “wow, this is great info!”. I tried markdown syntax for a table and it didn’t work… so I dont know… but for now, let me just enjoy it as an image

Thanks @bskeet for the reminder. Jeff was a transfer, so he wasn’t on the KU high school recruits list. But he was Rivals 36 and 8th by position in 2008. I will add him tonight.

      ?

The 5 assists Embiid had proved huge. Agree with HEM on that, and also that the sample size is small regarding Black, Traylor, and Embiid. Let’s see what Self does with each’s mpg. And lets see what ea. player does with their mgp opportunities. Black is also learning Self’s plethora of duties, screens/picks, and positioning that Self REQUIRES of his bigs, including rebound hustle. BigBlack has the size, does he have the motor to use such size? He would be an absolute monster if he had TRob’s motor…I dont think we have seen Black play enough yet. Maybe he isnt nimble enough to avoid fouls, I dont know. I need to see more games to judge.

The new rule interpretations plays right into Mason’s hands. He may become the most-valuable 5’11" player in college basketball this year! I know I wouldn’t trade him…

I put in a plug for kubuckets. We’ll see if it stays up. LOL . The facebook policy is idiotic. I’m tempted to set up a few burn gmail/facebook accounts just to be able to lob a few turds at a couple annoying commentrs once in a while, but I’d feel kinda bad for Jesse Newell who I guess has to police the place. Liking the discussion here though…keep it up! … back to lurker mode.

While I agree that Frankamp’s debut was not what I expected, we should not be quick to call for red shirt after one exhibition game; Conner can flat out play, Check his play with the US team in international competition where he was the leading scorer and maybe even player, playing alongside other highly ranked players. Let’s give him a few more games to show what he can do before we start penciling him in for a red shirt. The comment that he would change status to “walk on” is utterly ridiculous, no insult intended to the poster.

I had Drew penciled in for the redshirt this year as well. It makes sense given that HCBS seems to prefer redshirting sophomores to freshmen. I believe he does so in order to let them see the court and have in-game experience before they even redshirt so they get more out of it. It’s looking more like Frankamp now. I expect all 3 will be excellent players when we see their whole KU careers though.
