@nuleafjhawk the recruiting profile was different. The timeline much shorter. But the same amount of nattys. She’s at UConn women’s team. It’s a good fit. They are doing quite well.

@jayballer67 said in Assistant Coach Roberts was... "soft": @SlickRockJayhawk said in Assistant Coach Roberts was... "soft": Just checking in to Buckets after the weekend. I think it begs to be said that Norm Roberts was soft in how he handled his coaching duties during the games. We have come accustomed to hearing Coach Self use that adjective to describe the team when they aren’t giving it their all. There would be no other way to describe Coach Roberts game demeanor than SOFT. And he didn’t step up to the plate when Coach Self and the Team needed him to tear into the players when they got off to a decent lead against Arkansas and then let them back in the game so Ark could gain their confidence. Very poor job by Coach Roberts. Lacked intensity, fire and sense of urgency. Soft. My only question to what you said is - - How do you know he didn’t tear into them? Was you there in the team huddle during that time? - -Just curious.

@rockchalkwyo said in Thursday nights starting 5...: @SlickRockJayhawk said in Thursday nights starting 5...: @BeddieKU23 I like that starting 5! It’s interesting to get opinions from other people’s perspective. Like you, I think my list would differ from Self’s, but here it is… Starters: 1 Harris, 2 Agbaji, 3 Garrett, 4 Lightfoot, 5 McCormick Order off the bench: 5 Wilson, 4 Enaruna, 2 Braun Closing minutes in a tight game: 1 Harris, 2 Agbaji, 3 Garrett, 4 Wilson, 5 Lightfoot (Harris only if he’s handling pressure well with ball handling, and Lightfoot only if he is stout on D, otherwise swap for Enaruna) I like this starting 5. We’re at a point, in my doomsday like opinion, to where we just say F*** it. With this 5 Agbaji can screen behind 2 bigs and pop up 10+ 3s a game. Also give Dave the green light to try 3 with Mitch at the rim for rebounds. Bump

Also going to mention again that KU’s crucial comeback stretch against Tech came with Garrett on the bench…

https://twitter.com/jeffborzello/status/1253353201274966017 The comments OMEGALUL I think BYU was a good pick for him, he can do well in that conference. Would have been exposed in the SEC.

@tundrahok said in Chauncey Gardener: Intense preparation for the scout team makes Mitch Lightfoot KU’s MVP.: I enjoyed that series of articles. Tait had the hardest case to make, although Garrett certainly deserves to be in the discussion. Dok has been on a tear lately, but Dotson has been most consistently excellent. I really think we’ll have to see how the postseason plays out. I think today showed Dotson is the best player, Doke is the most valuable, and Garrett is the best defender. No way is this a 4 point game with a healthy Doke the entire game today.

SlickRockJayhawk said: It’s all about poise, leadership, and accountability. All three SEVERELY lacking on the floor against Duke. No one said Mitch was a PG or 2 guard. And you CAN’T GET MORE SHOTS when you’re peeing down your leg and giving up 28 turnovers. Mitch is obviously not the best leader to ever wear the Jayhawk uniform, but this team lacks leadership, and from my viewpoint, Mitch is the only one that is capable of bringing those skills to the floor. When someone does bring that to the floor, it’s contagious to the rest of the team. This is about what Mitch wants. - -what Mitch feels like is best for him - - not fans. - -He is doing what the Coach’s feel is the best situations - - not ours. - -It’s ONE game - -it was the 1st game. - -Did you happen to see Michigan St/Kentucky ? - - also ugly. The world isn’t coming to an end. - - -Devon has almost if not the same amount of playing time leadership time in over a year as Mitch has for his College Career - -Devon started from day one - - - career minute average of 32.4 per game – your point guard is widely considered as the leader on the floor - -Devon for his career has logged 1,206 minutes - - -Mitch has totaled 1,032 minutes Devon been through the wars/battles also - -were fine , - -not worth ruining a redshirt year for one game - - - have to look at the BIGGER picture very easily need Mitch more next year then this. - He is doing what he also feels is best for the School as well as him. - -Mitch is Crimson & blue 1000 times over - love the kid, he just does what he feels will help KU the most - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@chriz I think he could guard it better if playing the 3. Right now he looks like Perry did for so long–he has trouble getting from inside to the arc as fast as his guy. But I think he is still better as a 4.

@TRUBLUE KU should’ve killed the high on the court double team, but KUs floor spacing was poor allowing one WVU player to effectively cover 2 Jayhawks. Hope they work out those kinks in practice, now that they have been publicly embarrassed.
