Here’s how bad ESPN is getting. If you go to their website right now the top story (this is on a computer, not a phone, but probably the same there) is the top women’s teams for this season. Nothing about the world series until you scroll pass soccer, tennis, womens hoops, NBA. I wish I could say I’m not watching ESPN again, but football and college hoops so I must. But to act like people don’t care about the World Series is so short sided on their part. 32 million viewers watched game 1 world wide. If it goes 7 games and they throw Shohei again, see what those ratings are then. 12 million of those were US viewers which is kind of low I guess but those college games since Caitlin graduated? Back down to a little more than a million. Rob Manfred is part of the viewership problem for baseball I believe. He will not try to compete with NFL football. Last week game 7 of the ALCS was on FS1, not Fox which was showing cartoons. Can you imagine letting fox show cartoons instead of your league when you’re the commissioner and you have a broadcasting agreement with Fox? I admit I don’t have the knowledge of how this all works, but baseball alienates fans who want to watch their team so much it’s unbelievable. Blackout rules (I got MLB subscription this year and couldn’t watch the sox, local team on it), horrible postseason scheduling decisions, and a refusal to air important playoff games on free over the air TV are the biggest gripe I’ve got. They’re heading towards another lockout in the 2027 season over salary cap issues which will damage them even further.

White is invisible. He’s our invisible assassin. No one pays attention, and he’ll probably average 16 ppg this year. He finds ways to score. We have several guys that can put up decent numbers on a semi regular basis. And then there is DP… there with the lights shining bright, attracting defenders like bugs around a light bulb. He’ll find his way to get his but more important he’ll create scoring space for others and his basketball IQ will take advantage of it. I’m less interested in how many points he averages a game versus how many assists he averages. Our bigs show promise, but on offense, they require plays, often two-man plays and lobs. None of these guys are Kareem with a sky hook in the post. Which of our 3 bigs will become most proficient at pick and rolls? I’d like to see all 3 bigs learn to “crash the boards!” We could really use a big man coach about now! Obviously, Vaughn isn’t a big man coach but he knows how to teach guards to utilize bigs in several ways, including high ball screens.

I don’t work for Weber, I promise, but I’m gonna sing their praises. You get what you pay for and after throwing away some piece of crap that lasted a year in Louisiana humidity I bought a 300 dollar Weber Spirit. That was in 08. I’ve replaced the drip/flavor bars once. That’s it, still works beautifully. Even heat, amazing grill. I just unscrew the gas when it’s not working right and screw it back on and it works well.

@P-H-C I think Calderon is under rated , think he will more of a help then some of our own fans think. Coach hsa been really impressed with him, going to ne some more depth going to get quality minutes off the bench;

Our identity is mostly throw the ball inside to Hunter. That’s not altogether bad, but, with that strategy we cannot give up lots of 3s to a team because the math isn’t in our favor. The 2 identities that I’d most like to see change starting immediately are 1) the ability to withstand a push by a team and come back from a deficit in the game, take the lead and hold it to the end, and 2) finish the halves – that is, execute flawlessly in the final 1-2 minutes and come out even or ahead of where we were at the under 4 timeout.

@jay4ever Agree about Storr 100 % his feet should NEVER , EVER step foot on the court here again for one minute , he has been given many chances but as soon as he steps on the floor he is an instant turnover or a Black hole- give those minutes to a meaningful player

@rockchalkjayhawk McDuffie hopefully - but that looks like a 30mil per year ball park deal and may not be in the cards. That’s a whole lotta cap space.

KU bb and fb are my favorite but watching my 3 yr gson playing bb is pretty fun too! When he plays D he takes them all the way to the floor, made a 5 yr old gal go crying to her mom. I’ve never laughed so hard!

I still go there because they do put stories on all KU sports, football, soccer, volleyball etc. I concur that quality of articles has dropped but I get to receive information. For this reason, I have started a monthly trial and will see how it goes.

@nuleafjhawk @dylans I think the Chiefs’ staff is very set and working like a finely tuned instrument. It could be difficult to bring him back without inpinging on someones’s job. They all said his talk to the players in the playoffs was inspiring, but that doesn’t mean he could slip into a cheerleader role. Not having a place that fits him doesn’t mean they wouldn’t consider him if a job had opened up. The rapid extensions given Toub, Spags and others show the Chiefs don’t want to upset the apple cart.

Being a member of the AAU is a requirement for Big 10 membership and these are generally considered to be the top research universities in the country. Access to those research grants is very appealing to university presidents and the Big 10 has historically been considered the top academic league among the power conferences along with the PAC 12. Academics are also why schools like Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, and Georgia Tech have been mentioned as potential Big 10 targets over the years.
