I do find myself watching mostly reruns on YTTV now that i think about it. Hmm, maybe i need to reconsider my habits.

Been watching stuff on Netflix and Amazon though. Double hmm.

I’m more than a little concerned about what we’ll get from Elmarko next season. He needed a ton of growth, but I’m guessing he hasn’t had any time to work on his game with that injury. I don’t expect more than what we got as a frosh. Maybe even less explosive. Hope I’m wrong.

Interesting for sure though. generally way closer %s than i thought they’d be.

Nice. hope he’s a contributor! From the way back when HS scouting report:

Shelby is one of the better long distance shooters in his class. He makes any man to man defense stretch out against any zone. coaches mainly see his ability to stretch the floor as a key translatable asset.

His career stats from 3pt: 31 and 33 percent in his two years playing college ball.

It was, unfortunately, the objectively correct move from his people. The whole thing does suck. Flory wouldn’t be back if HE didn’t want to be though.

I have a proposal for the NIL/NCAA/SEC or whoever rules college hoops these days. They could garner tons of excitement if they did some sort of public facing NIL battle for players. Bring it out in the open for all to see. Can you imagine the publicity they’d get? Fun!

Maybe a public Website/database of portal players with their asking price listed, and allow teams to match, raise, low ball, etc., all posted on the website. crazy.

Flory straight to the NBA?

After reading more, I feel this current portal craziness is a one off. It will settle down a bit next year when the schools can pay athletes directly. Remember there’s a cap coming per school for all sports.

I’m going to hope for the best possible KU outcome and move on.

Well, if we hear squat about portal additions over the weekend, we’ll know Kansas was belt tightening and being frugal as they wait for the Monday $$$ cap to kick in.

I don’t feel so bad now. LOTS of other big time schools losing 2-8 guys to the portal.

Unlucky that KU is also losing some seniors to graduation at the same time.

I’ve been wondering how other programs have been affected by the portal. Anybody know of a website that tracks portal entries by school?

It is a 15 player roster limit so I believe he would have to take one of those spots if he wants to play. Had forgotten about him though and that is a good question on what their plan is.

Without any semblance of transparency in this new NIL era, these questions are impossible to answer.

For any public institution, all $$$ transactions should be recorded for all to see.
