Sad not to get to watch DP. Lots of new faces. Jeremy Case is sitting next to Coach.

Listened to the last half of the game and looking at the highlights this morning I think this team is going to be fun to watch. DP is the real thing. It will be fun to see how Coach picks the starters and who best plays what he wants. On another side note, most of you know that I go way back to 2012 that I wrote the athletic dept. for posters and magnets. Well this year, I was notified that NONE of the departments were doing posters, and the guy I ended up with sent us a package of a couple Wave the Wheat tshirts, a Rock Chalk plaque, a magnet and a towel that reads “Towering Toward The Blue”. I can’t believe that they did away with posters. Feel naked without one hanging on my wall. #RockChalk

RE: The ever changing landscape of TV sportsposted in KU Basketball / Other NCAAM
I have seen now $39.99 per month for the ‘new’ streaming service. We looked at ESPN schedule in our DirecTV and saw where ESPN was showing the Fresno State game that originally aired on Fox, so their content is being shared between the 2 now?

I read the announcement. It appears that ESPN plus is going to go away at some point and those programs will now be on the next level of subscription so that while those who had ESPN plus that cancel their subscription is projected to be a downfall, in the end the SOBs are charging more and we are getting less. I don’t want Disney plus or HULU so I fell into the Unlimited level, which includes all ESPN as well as ESPN plus as long as it’s around and golf and some other sports. They are pushing the new ESPN App as the way to get access. I have to turn off my VPN in order to watch anything on ESPN Watch, including ESPN plus, on my laptop. I come up for renewal in November so time to see how this plays out.

We follow ALL KU sports in our home. Now that we don’t have to root against Texas, we keep up with all the activity. New VB Coach has brought some bangers. I played volleyball in City leagues - had sand, inside, mixed, and just women, and have a tremendous love for the sport. Austin has sand courts and are always hosting matches. The CW channel also shows the men’s and women’s sand contests. Takes a lot of strength to only play 2. Loved Kerri Walsh and Misty Mae Traener. Just a perfect team.

@approxinfinity CANCER DOES SUCK. Sorry for your loss. Meant sincerely. Not a fan of rats, but I can see where the relationship becomes something.
I have a Western Screech Owl Mom and 3 of her babies in my white oak tree just outside the house. It’s a part of nature that they eat my lizards, but then again, all things are connected. Rats play an important part of the whole ecosystem.

ROUNDBALL CLASSICposted in General Discussion
First, shout out to my fellow Texans who are experiencing torrential downpours (here we got over 20 inches so far) and loss of property and/or lives. My highway out of my area had bridges washed out in 2 places - one heading west and the other heading east. They were working on the one heading east yesterday but we got an additional 2 inches and they were forced to stop work. The bridge my husband helped build over our low water crossing off the main highway was the only one to survive the torrent of water and debris. 2 people were swept away and still not found when they attempted to go across that bridge he built. I probably won’t get mail for months. The one heading west to Marble Falls is completely gone. From drought to flooding. I walked down to the lake this morning and I could still see debris and huge trees floating and my neighbor who lives lakefront probably has about 50 feet left before water enters her downstairs. She saw docks breaking loose and sent down river and watched whole marinas going by on Friday. I emptied a 6 inch rain gauge 3 times and know that I missed some. Our cove was completly dry before and now boats and docks are all mangled against the cliffs. Lake has risen at least 18 feet since Friday. There were waterfalls cascading down 90 foot cliffs at the state park across the lake from us.
Now, a good distraction for me will be watching some of our favorite players return to LFK and play some ball. I for one can’t wait.
Who you most excited to come back? Me Dok

I think it is a win-win for everyone, including us fans. I see it’s a whole other territory with the NIL but good for Flory for making Coach commit to him full on. Now we get to sit back and watch a guy blossom and contribute to all the many memories we have from our players in years past. RCJH

RE: Fair Weather Fanposted in KU Basketball / Other NCAAM
I took the position that it was for my betterment to not be consumed with anxiety that came from being a spoiled fan going through the 14 conference championships to the investigations, the recruiting whoes and the overall play being subpar. I have instead watched as a fan but without the intensity that we all have experienced on this site. I turned the KState game off with 7 minutes to go and that is the first time I have ever not thought we could make a come back. It was 75 degrees outside and chose to go for a walk instead. In my case, I hope they earn my trust back. The transfers didn’t pan out, Coach is still Coach, and it’s just not the same for me.

@tonysands24 OTD in 1991 you set an FBS single game record rushing against #MuckFizzou of 396 yards! It was something to see then.
I saw Tony on the sidelines! What you think of that?
