@mayjay I agree with you that I am fine to visit Phoenix, but would not want to live there. Why would you want to move to a place where they are already fighting over water, the one thing necessary to sustain life?

RE: I'm Back
@BShark what was the medicine? if the medicine was a pain pill/narcotic, it is to help lessen his pain with a potential for constipation, which could cause another blockage. He should have been given something along with it to prevent the constipation side effect. If he was receiving the pain medicine while hospitalized and was having normal BM’s once the bowels started working again, then the likelihood of a blockage is low. You should have been told about that potential side effect though before being discharged. Unfortunately, discharge instructions, too often, are not as thorough as they should be. This occurs because of staffing shortages, staff apathy, and the patient wanting to get out of the hospital hours, if not days, before it occurs.

RE: Bill Self back in the hospital 😳
@drgnslayr My dad had a quadruple bypass at 53 y/o and lived to 81 y/o after more heart caths and additional stents than I can remember. A lot of heart attacks occur in patients that do not have much blockage on a cardiac cath. If a newer plaque should sheer off then it will travel until it is either burned up like a meteor in the earth’s atmosphere or until its gets wedged into an artery that gets progressively smaller so that oxygen and nutrients can be exchanged in capillaries.
As far as kickbacks for health care providers (HCP), it is illegal. If a HCP is found to have kickbacks, then they get to suffer a huge fine and the embarrassment in the local news and the HCP community. They tend to become a pariah that have to go out on their own if they continue to practice because no one wants to associate with them. Lastly, there is the Sunshine Act that anyone can look up to see if a healthcare provider has received anything from pharmaceutical companies or medical equipment companies and how much to see if they are being influenced or an advocate for those same companies.

RE: I'm Back
@BShark I am sorry to hear about the stressful challenges you have had to deal with. I am glad that your situation has improved to the point that you are able to spend time with us. Your insight into KU sports is valued.
This so-called healthcare industry in the U.S. is broken. I know this intimately, as I am a healthcare provider. I could write a book about the many failures that I see on a daily basis. Dislike for insurance is too kind of a word in the way they screw patients over and make care more inefficient and costlier. I don’t want to make this a diatribe on the healthcare industry, but I can discuss my experience if bucketeers are interested.

I was afraid I was going to go through withdrawal.

RE: The portal.
@PharmacyHawk You can’t return them if they’ve been used.

RE: Norm Roberts Retires
@wissox We need to snip them in the bud.

@bskeet A great article. Thanks for sharing!

RE: Transfer Rumblings
On Auburn Rivals, they are expecting Flory to return to Kansas, is what I read by the admin for Kansas Rivals.

RE: The portal.
@DCHawker I’ve read that the staff are being more intentional with their picks looking for a better fit and if the ask on NIL is too high, then on to the next one. That is why AJ entered the portal.

@SlimShaddy54 Honey crisps are a type of apple that are sweet, juicy, and have a crisp bite.

RE: The portal.
@BShark I hear Passmore is likely leaving too. I am really pissed that we turn our backs on kids that chose to come here. Maybe it will be different when Bill retires.

RE: NCAA Tournament Discussion
Maryland should be out of the tournament anyways because of Derik Queen’s walk before making the last-second basket. It was a shitty no-call by the ref.
-
RE: NCAA Tournament Discussion
Maryland won over Colorado State with last second shot with Queen walking before making basket with no call. The talking heads are without a peep about it.

@wissox More eyeballs in the evening means more advertising dollars at a higher rate than in the afternoon.

@BeddieKU23 I heard he wants more playing time for his “senior” year.

RE: Who Are You Rooting For Now?
I’ll root for Big 12 teams and the underdogs. Drake, New Mexico, McNeese St, and Colorado St so far. I root for any team playing against Duke as well.

RE: Lets Dance - Arkansas vs KU
@kjayhawks Coit +6, KJ +3, Shak +1, Storr -1, Bidunga -4, Dickinson -8, Rylan -9, Mayo -10, and Juan -13.
-
RE: Lets Dance - Arkansas vs KU
@wissox Zuby and Udeh left because they were recruited over with more money thrown at Dickinson. That is related to coaches not assessing appropriately the ceiling that the players have and going after fool’s gold (Dickinson) when you had 2 bigs that would most likely be playing for KU if not for the portal and NIL. The only question is whether Zuby would develop into the player he currently is if he stayed at KU.

RE: Other games 2024-2025
Only Duke player I ever thought was halfway OK was Grant Hill.

RE: Central Florida 3. Not UCF.
Hunter is sandwiched on his shot, but UCF gets the phantom foul on the other end.

RE: Central Florida 3. Not UCF.
It would have been better to shoot the ball Juan than whatever that was.
