@BShark That’s why I only use FB for our neighborhood page. No other way to find out when there are activities here…but people re-post stuff purporting to be news from FB and Tik Tok and Instagram, and people believe all that crap. Internet Gospel, one friend sarcastically calls it.

RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 This is from Reid’s press conference today (courtesy PFT by NBC). He must not follow the Chiefs’ fan hub on on FB!
“So, as far as the injuries go, I know Xavier’s going to be the big question,” head coach Andy Reid told reporters in his Monday news conference. “He’s rehabbing and working his shoulder, we’ll just see where it goes. Day-by-day here, see where we end up.”

RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 Took a look at that page. Can’t believe anyone takes what they say seriously. They have "quotes"superimposed on pictures as if the person pictured said it but actually no attributon. Made up for clicks, I’d say… It was posted 2 hours ago but no legit source has that story. The comments are totally toxic. Read for amusement, not news!

RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 Dislocated shoulder, no surgery expected so apparently they got everything in alignment again. Unsure how long he’ll be out but he will wear a brace when he does come back.
I’ve got a bit of anxiety about this one: last year it took a month for the doctors to realize H Brown needed surgery on his injury after initially expecting it to heal but the clavicle bones were healing out of alignment. Hope they track this one better!.

RE: 2025 Baseball Season
Witt not playing tonight. Left last night’s game in 7th inning with back spasms. Why can’t we have nice things?

RE: Hate Missouri Week. Game chat here!
@nuleafjhawk Did we rehire the stupid offensive coordinator?

The producer must have a kid sittting there with his shirt off in overalls. We’ve seen them about 80 times so far.
Those are 80 different parts of the crowd. It is high fashion week.

RE: Hate Missouri Week. Game chat here!
So our effort to not go anywhere on our last possession was remarkably successful.

RE: 2025 Chiefs
Well, at least they got rid of the undefeated season pressure. Whew!

@dylans Where do you go in Jamaica? Only been there on a cruise, so we only saw a cruddy bar on a dirty beachafter a long bus ride. Going to an all-inclusive?
Happily anniverserary!

RE: 2025 Chiefs
Missed this yesterday: Mike Pennel signed to Bengals practice squad. No secret re-signing plan for him apparently.
-
RE: I'm Back
I am sure he passed feeling far more at peace due to your love and the protection you gave him. Not everyone has that. Be good to yourself. I aspire to be as caring as you.

RE: Kansas vs. Wagner
@nuleafjhawk said in Kansas vs. Wagner:
Over 7,000 yards passing for his career. Works out to about 500 yds per season or so.
The announcers made a big deal about Daniels being the 2nd KU player to that total. They didn’t mention he is still 4,000 yards behind Reesing who did it in only 4 years!
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
@rockchalkjayhawk Technically, everyone we cut who didn’t have to go through waivers, but we then re-signed, was a free agent…temporarily. That is why I’m nervous about Pennel if they dawdle too much!
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
Veach says Pennel could be back before or during season. They preferred Nnadi because he is 5 years younger, but they are still looking at DLs throughout the league. Hard to get good trades for KC because of both draft position (31) and no extra early round picks to entice other teams.
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 Cobee just signed to be on Atlanta practice squad.

RE: 2025 Chiefs
@dylans said in 2025 Chiefs:
…Pennel has come up big before…
I have yet to see any report of Pennel re-signing as expected. Not on any lists in about 5 sources I’ve checked. Last I counted, Chiefs have 16 on practice squad so he could well be the last one to sign.
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 Cobee, KU’s #2? He was put on inactive/nonfootball (injury? or other reason?) status back in late July by Atlanta (who signed him as undrafted FA). Don’t know why…
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
Lots of familiar faces on KC practice squad. From SI:
Offensive linemen Chu Godrick (international player pathway exemption) and C.J. Hanson, defensive backs Mike Edwards, Kevin Knowles and Melvin Smith, running backs Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Carson Steele, quarterback Chris Oladokun, defensive linemen Coziah Izzard, Brodric Martin and MArlon Tuipulotu, wide receivers Hal Presley and Jimmy Holiday and tight end Tre Watson and linebacker Cole Christiansen.

LB Cam Jones and OT Esa Pole, both waived by Chiefs, were picked up by the Jets.

@rockchalkjayhawk @Crimsonorblue22
Bean was cut by the Colts, too.

Jesse Newell (now the Chiefs’ beat writer for The Athletic) also discusses it:

RE: 2025 Chiefs
@Crimsonorblue22 I really doubt it. He was only here last year because of injuries.
BTW, this Sports Illustrated post explains the Chiefs’ strategy in the roster cuts:

-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
@rockchalkjayhawk Apparently they may re-sign Pennell. As a veteran, not subject to waivers. The Chiefs played with a few of these expected re-signings of vets because, I think, they wanted room on the roster now for 8 WRs so they wouldn’t lose anyone to other teams. This enables them to have people who know the offense in place when Rice gets suspended instead of searching for some castoff.

RE: FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS
3 calls against #77 on one FS drive. Kind of reminds me of Chiefs RT!
-
RE: 2025 Chiefs
Chiefs traded for DT Derek Nnadi from the Jets (exchanged 2026 6th and 7th round picks). Got him back after he was signed as a FA last spring by NYJ. Good move!!!

RE: To hell with the summer
@nuleafjhawk My dad was in Az in WW2. He said the humidity was so low that you never felt sweat even in the 90’s playing tennis. But you would end up with a white crust on your skin. Now, I’ve heard people say irrigation has more than doubled the humidity levels.
Again, I pass. Like, I will pass through to see the Grand Canyon.

RE: To hell with the summer
My wife has been talking about moving to the Phoenix area from here near Hilton Head. Me: “So, go from almost Hell with water saturating the air to actual Hell with no water at all. Try again!”

RE: I'm Back
@BShark I vividly remember my hives from my prescription for an antibiotic after oral surgery that turned out to be amoxicillin despite my penicillin allergy written on the dentist’s Rx form itself. Should have been Azithromycin. Never again will I blindly accept a prescription!

Another “up” in the roller-coaster ride known as Vick! Hope this signals he has defeated his demons. For some of us it took decades, but thanfully it is all 3 decades in the past for me.

RE: Chiefs offseason
Trey Smith signed 4 year extension Final piece in place!
Edit: Other than 2nd rd pick. Only 2 of 32 have signed. They all want more guaranteed money after this year’s 1st pick of the second round got a huge guaranteed portion increase over last year’s #33 pick.

RE: So, Kansas Reinstated the Border War (for the Chiefs)
@dylans They also rented construction equipment to be in the background of a fake groundbreaking photo at the Tropicana site. Lots of theater going on in their PR about a stadium for which financing doesn’t exist but which they claim will be magically done in 3 years. This site fell for it hook, line, and sinker: https://ballparkdigest.com/2025/06/24/athletics-mark-new-las-vegas-ballpark-construction-launch-with-groundbreaking/
Maybe A’s games will be created by AI also?

Hunter Renfroe was such a huge letdown they waived him and ate a huge contract. Should the GM be able to predict a rapid descent like that?

RE: I'm Back
@BShark You are the perfect example of the catalyst that allows the health care industrial complex to continue to fool itself and politicians that we have the best care in the world, no changes needed, Americans are so lucky, etc.
Because you are your family’s everyday health care advocate-- really, “hero” is the better word. Every day, thousands of parents, children, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunt and uncles, and family friends have to step in and save their family members from convoluted rules, poorly trained staff, and overburdened or uncaring administrators.
We had to do the same for my mother. I was able to do it because I was retired so I had time, and had training in advocacy as a lawyer, but I fear for all the people who get screwed with little recourse. The stories of people losing their homes from erroneous insurance denials and huge med bills are insane.
Glad to hear your brother is doing better. May the love and compassion you bring to all the people in your life you have comforted and cared for come back to you a hundredfold!
