@Crimsonorblue22 Well I would if I could, but my complicated life has me living in Louisiana! When I visit family I try to get there once a summer. It’s one thing I really miss about Chicago. Where does your son go to school if you don’t mind saying?

@Lulufulu85 Nothing wrong with an early loss to a stacked team-unless it is UK. Early win vs Dookies last year may have given that young of a team a false sense of security in their own abilities. I still think if we don’t loose JoJo for the dance, we at minimum make the FF. Goin’ waaaaaaaaay out on the limb with a 36 W season because without key injuries I think we’re back to the FF once again. I am also including the 6 wins in the dance to cut down the nets once again. I’m also picking another Self-Cal final with the same results. Holy squid lips Cal, not again !!

Lebron doesn’t win championships without former Jayhawks on the team, I think we’ve proved that, so Cleveland made a big mistake. I was pulling for Cleveland to win with Wiggins alongside Lebron, but not anymore! I wish Wiggins well.

@wissoxfan83 Too hot. I am restricting my outdoors activity to 1.5 hrs/day which means it takes 2-3 days for weekly yard work. ;<)

@HighEliteMajor-That is amazing about ole’ Roy. On the second item, you nailed it exactly. Bill’s system does permit the opposition to control tempo-then again, if it’s like Tubby at TT, we play right into his hand & aid & abet. No alternative strategy to increase possessions other than stops or steals, which we all agree were far too few. Plus you’re correct again, we had no business winning that game. Embid muffed the pass & Wigs was just in the right spot for the garbage.

This game is built for us… We need to win the foul war… pound the ball inside and take no prisoners. Andrew drive the paint, draw fouls. Everyone needs to try a head fake for the first time this year! Try it, you might like it! If Naa cracks we have Conner. We need to keep the ball moving… don’t play sped up but push the ball up the court and tire out this thin-benched team. Maybe push some open-court finishes… Andrew? Come on, Bam Bam… make it two in a row! Show us that Friday’s game wasn’t a fluke! Rock Chalk!

@Lulufulu85 Bottom line, Keegs, or no Keegs, Naadir stayed on the floor with a draft choice PG and a coulpe very good 2 guards, when he was at point and wing. I have been a loooooooooooooooong time doubter of Dir, but he has produced. Its not his hot hand; that comes and goes. Its his ability to play well enough on defense that he can be helped. At some point, every player needs help. Chalmers needed help on Aaron Afflalo once upon a time and got it from BRush just like Dir was getting it from Selden, etc. Naadir has some problems with assist to TO ratio, but we have learned the last two seasons that KU PGs just do have high TOs, because Self’s Hi-LO offense refuses to set many screens, which means that the wing men and point have to make a lot of high risk passes all game long. Plus, since Self is playing saplings this season and has to K.I.S.S. in schemes, PG Tharpe has to make more TOs than he would if he had a full quiver of press breaking options at his disposal. Tharpe has risen to the challenge. The opponents have chosen to overplay Selden and Wiggins of late and that has left Tharpe open. He has taken and made big time shots. Nothing runs like a Dir.

@nuleafjhawk . Jerrod Hasse wrote the book about his personal experience and the tittle doe not necessarily reflect the entire team attitude. He did dive for balls more that anyone else and played at full speed all the time. I remember the Big 8 title game against Missouri when Jason Sutherland, the dirtiest player I have ever seen, put a football style tackle on Hasse and send him flying under the scorer’s table.

Charles Barkley was on PTI a few weeks ago and said something along the lines of “just because a kid can declare for the draft, doesn’t mean he should”. He was absolutley crushing the quality of basketball being played in the NBA this year, and blaming a lot of it on kids leaving college early and GMs drafting on potential instead of actual. I know it’s tough for a kid to turn down big money (and fame, girls, cars, lifestyle), but you have to wonder how good some of the dudes who left early could have been if they stayed. Julian Wright springs to mind. That being said, no way Joel is back for a soph seaon.

GIYF (Google is your friend). Google the terms and you will find lots of information including videos illustrating the different offenses. It would take a Jaybate sized post to describe them. For Pick and roll look up videos of Karl Malone and John Stockton, they set the standard for this system. For the High Low offense, look at KU’s videos, it is Coach Self’s preferred offense. Lots of schools run the motion including variation such as the dribble drive run by Kentucky. While you are at it, look up the Triangle offense, which the Bull ran it better than anyone and won them a number of NBA crowns, and the Princeton offense, a very effective and sophisticated offense requiring players with high basketball IQ; Coach Bzedelik used to run it at the Air Force Academy but no longer runs it at Wake Forest; too complicated in the age of the one and done, I believe a few Ivy Leaguer still run it.

I was 17 had a full ride somewhere else my parents neighbor took me to AFH for the Mizzou game. I sat row three face level with the 1968 cheerleader and Jo Jo White, I didn’t use the Full ride. Since Nixon was president I have hated Norm Stewart, loved KU ball, and miss the cheerleader uni’s from old. Always crimson and blue … … today they look like little junior high gals to me but when I was 17 it was true love!

I think one of the simplest and also free photo tool, Picasa will do nicely to reduce the pictures to manageable sizes. It can be downloaded here, Picasa.google.com. Once you have the large picture open in Picasa, click “Export” Then you will get a prompt to reduce the size to anything you want. Drag and Drop is supported at least by Firefox and Chrome.
