    • Brandon Rush gets to play for injured H.Barnes

Ethan Sherwood Strauss, ESPN Staff Writer 0 Shares Email print comment OAKLAND, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors are now 18-0, after a gleeful 120-101 evisceration of the DeMarcus Cousins-less Kings.

This game had the usual staples. Stephen Curry made physics-taunting shots, scoring 17 on a mere six attempts in the first quarter. Emerging All-Star candidate Draymond Green did everything, everywhere, again. This time that ubiquity led to his becoming the first Warrior since Wilt Chamberlain to claim consecutive triple-doubles. Andre Iguodala was great yet again, and Festus Ezeli delivered productive energy, yet again.

The Kings started off feisty, till the fight was futile. For the Warriors, it was another blowout win, to extend a streak that’s stretching far as light.

Ho hum, same old Warriors, a team that now has outscored teams by 288 points through 18 games. For comparison, Houston, Golden State’s 2015 Western Conference finals foe, had outscored teams by 282 points after their entire 2014-2015 season.

So, how does a team that averages a blowout top itself? On Saturday night, joyous surprise came in the form of a quick strike Brandon Rush throwback game. He was called upon to replace Harrison Barnes (sprained ankle) in the starting lineup, to some surprise. He didn’t deliver much in the beginning but owned the third quarter like Klay Thompson in disguise. Rush scored 14 points in a 3-minute, 49-second stretch that was shocking, fun, and possibly cathartic.

Rush has a history here, having done nice work for a very different Golden State team, not entirely long ago. On the 2011-2012 Warriors, he was the rare good role player, a glue guy in a situation too shattered to matter. On Nov. 3, 2012, against the Grizzlies, a Zach Randolph shove sent Rush’s career into dormancy. He’d scored 2,639 points in his four-plus seasons before his ACL injury. In the two seasons that followed, he scored 109.

In the background, he has been a vocal part of the locker room, originator of the, “Get what you neeeeed!” catchphrase, meant to inspire work between practices. He’s a popular teammate, someone people here have been pulling for to finally reclaim what he lost. That was palpable in the frenzy of his 14-point explosion. Teammates were clearly looking for Rush, hoping to extend his moment.

Brandon Rush scored 16 points, including 14 in a brief stretch during the third quarter. Cary Edmondson/USA TODAY Sports After a dunk over contact, Rush was found for three consecutive 3-pointers. Then, during a timeout, interim coach Luke Walton and assistant coach Jarron Collins decided to carry the fun further, calling up “Elevator Doors” for the suddenly hot Rush.

“Elevator Doors” is a play that looks like its namesake. An offensive player runs off the ball between two screening teammates, who converge together to block his defender – the closing doors. It’s a play normally called up for the best of shooters, as it creates a 3-pointer on the move. You’ll see Curry get this play call. You’ll see Thompson get this play call. Something crazy has to happen for almost anyone else to ditch the stairs and take the lift. Since three straight 3s qualifies, Rush got the call, got the ball and … splash. The crowd went nuts, only outdone by a Golden State bench that might have accidentally created dance moves never before invented.

Walton explained the moment, saying, “When Brandon got hot and they called a timeout and we were walking out there to discuss [Jarron Collins] and I looked at each other at the same time. We both had it in our mind. That’s one of our go-to plays when somebody gets hot. It’s normally ran for Klay or Steph, so it was nice to be able to call for it for Brandon. They executed it perfectly and he knocked down the shot.”

Of the call, Rush said, “It was a big surprise. Luke said let’s stick with the hot hand.” Of the moment, Rush admitted, “It was the best I’ve felt in awhile. A couple years.”

The streak continues, bigger and better than ever. The Warriors continue to demur when asked about it, continue to focus on the present. In the meantime, their recent play has proved powerful enough to reclaim a man from the past.

    • Coach Self shuts out Shaka...again.

      Hey all KU fans!

I might be in the minority here but my loathing for Shaka just decreased by about 17.3%

      Hear me out ok?

Since Shaka has been at Texas he is 0 - 5 against KU. No Wins. NONE! 😆

Just makes me laugh to tears! Its so funny watching the post game hand shake… Ive rewatched the game twice already. Shaka just basically runs right by Coach Self after the handshake. ROFL!

So here is my rationale for not hating on Shaka as much.

KU has beaten them 5 straight times since Shaka took over. Do you think there might be a possibility that Coach Self, by winning so many consecutive games, is saying directly to Shaka. “Look son, you got lucky one time. Once!” It’ll never happen again. Not while I am at KU and you’re in MY conference."

So we just beat Texas again, in their house! It was a really good game, I thought. That Bamba kid is a freekin beast. Dok did a good job against him though. He just isnt on the same level athletically yet though. The only thing Dok has on Bamba is sheer size and strength. Once Dok got it into his mind that he was gonna do his work early to get good position in the paint, Bamba couldnt stop him. All he could do was try and block his shot. Which he did alot. But, Dok had some good moves on his own.

Im proud of our guys last night for grinding out that win. That was a big one, even though it was the first one of the conference season.

      Rock Chalk Jayhawks!

I was browsing the box scores of the NBA games last night. Saw that the Cavs beat the Kings. Checked the box score and Franks line was impressive yet again. There was a clip playing of the highlights. One showed Frank drilling a mid range 2 pointer in Lebron James’ face after he switched onto Frank after a screen. Lebrons reaction after the made shot was fabulous.

Frank proving he is a badass.

It truly was a thing of beauty.

    • This far into the season, thought it might be time to post on here.

      Hey Jayhawk fans,

I haven’t posted on here in a while, at least I haven’t started a post on here in a while. SO, Ive been lurking in the back ground on here, reading mostly. What KU has done so far this season is impressive to me. Im not gonna ramble on, I just want to add a couple thoughts.

Devon Dotson reminds me of a hybrid between Frank and Devonte’. He is taller like DG but he has that bulldog mentality like Frank. How he drives with the ball reminds me of Frank and how he shoots reminds me of DG, not quite but almost. He is super fast with the ball in his hands like both of them. What amazes me is that this kid is a freshmen. He is playing like a veteran guard!
Will he stick around KU for another year or so? I think it depends on how far KU goes in the NCAAs.

Dedric Lawson is a stud. He reminds me of Wayne Simien. Big guy, got handles, can pass real good and score from everywhere. He is leading this team in points, rebounds and assists! How is that not POY material there!?

    • Gold Rush ESPN article I think everyone will like this

PORTLAND, Ore. – Because of a devastating knee injury in 2012, Golden State Warriors wing Brandon Rush had been robbed of an NBA career – or so it seemed. On a night when the Warriors soundly beat the Portland Trail Blazers 128-108, we were reminded of how Rush was resurrected, as he scored 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting.

After three seasons in the NBA wilderness, he suddenly has claimed a rotation spot among stars, suddenly joined in on the fun.

Rush stood in the locker room hallway – for years he often has exited this space sans request for interviews – and reflected on the grimmer past. “The lowest was getting inactives,” he said. “There was a couple games last year I got inactives. A lot of DNPs, so that was pretty much the low of my career.”

Last season, Rush played in 33 NBA games and scored only 30 points. After seasons spent as a three-point marksmen, Rush was 3-of-27 from beyond the arc. On Friday night, he made more treys (four) than he did all of last season. So much of what has changed can be credited to a confidence that he was forced to grow. Last season, opportunities were sparse, and rhythm was elusive. This season, after Harrison Barnes went down because of a sprained ankle, Rush got extra time, easing into the easier looks Stephen Curry provides.

Of last season’s Rush, interim coach Luke Walton said, “We knew what Brandon was capable of because he had lost confidence in his game, in the real games. In practice, that’s what we [saw] from him.”

Brandon Rush contributed to the Warriors’ latest win with 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Craig Mitchelldyer/USA TODAY Sports Walton went on, “There’s no way to ever know if a player’s going to gain his confidence back or not, but we obviously, as a staff and as an organization, they love Brandon. So to see him get this opportunity and to continue to play at such a level and see him have fun out there and gain that confidence back has been great.”

After the game, Curry spoke of Rush’s progression. “He came in and worked and obviously tried to shake off a rough two years basically. We knew he was going to get an opportunity.” The reigning MVP said of Rush’s development, “This year he stayed ready. I remember in the summer, seeing him in the gym three weeks after the season.”

Last season’s Rush couldn’t hit a shot but remained a positive force in other ways. He’s the originator of Golden State’s “Get what you neeeed” slogan, a musically uttered ode to solo training. Rush saw the benefits of lone labor after last season’s rocky beginning.

“I just wasn’t mentally ready last year,” Rush said. “I was out of shape, I was kind of heavy. So I came into training camp in shape, back at my playing weight before the injury. And pretty much worked on my game, and everything’s going the right way.”

Indeed it is. Rush is shooting 48 percent beyond the arc after shooting 11.1 percent on 3-pointers last season. He’s getting plenty of open looks, but still, this is a staggering development considering where he was. Soon, as Walton has indicated, Barnes will reclaim the starting spot. Walton also said Rush is making that process “a lot more difficult.” That’s a massive shift from last season, where the Warriors struggled to justify time for a popular player.

Of course, Rush’s Friday performance was flanked by spectacular play from Golden State’s stars. Klay Thompson continued his recent scorched universe shooting, helping to end the game before it began with 19 first-quarter points (36 total, on 22 shots). Draymond Green had yet another triple-double (11 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists), his eighth on the season, and played brilliant defense. Green had six third-quarter assists, and felt as if he was in a passing rhythm similar to Thompson’s shooting streaks.

“I just had it going,” Green said. “You see somebody cutting and it’s not about the decision you make, it’s more so you feel like every pass is on point. And I felt like that tonight. Every pass is on point and in a good spot.”

Curry “merely” claimed 26 points and nine assists, one of which was a blind over-the-head lob to Andrew Bogut that would have been too absurd for a Harlem Globetrotters game.

The Warriors continue to roll, and while they aren’t making opponents look quite like the Washington Generals, victories come with uncommon ease. The victories open opportunities, as players work to be part of the good times. Months ago, Warriors defensive guru and coaching assistant Ron Adams said of this phenomenon, “That’s what winning does. It fine-tunes people. It opens possibilities for them. They feed off of that momentum.”

Currently, Rush and the Warriors are feeding off the momentum, perpetuating their success. If a man can go from three made 3-pointers in a season to shooting 48 percent beyond the arc, perhaps anything is possible.

    • RE: University of Vermont Catamounts - Monday - 8 pm - ESPN 2

Burlington Vermont is a GREAT college town! I loved living there for 3 years of my life. I made a ton of friends and the mountains are incredible to look at year round. There is lots to do outside. Lots. Any water sport you can think of plus hiking, skiing in winter, towns like Stowe and Shelburne are very near by and absolutely wonderful to visit. The local food there and the local breweries rival anything in Lawrence. I swear. And, Ben and Jerry’s corporate HQ is there. The building itself does NOT look corporate at all. It looks like a ski chalet. They love their home sports teams there too. College basketball and college hockey, soccer, lacrosse were the big ones there. The atmosphere at the basketball gym there is nothing compared to AFH. Its not close. I think it seats roughly 3500 and looks like a high school gym. Its cool though. For anyone wanting to take a vacation to a new place you’ve never been before, go to Vermont. You will not regret it.

That said, I fully expect our boys to kick their asses on Monday. They have a really good team. They will absolutely keep up with KU for the first 10 - 15 min. The Catamounts should win their league title and make another NCAA appearance.

    • 4 fouls in crunch time

Alright Jayhawks. Good game tonight. I have to say that I am impressed with two, no, three things after KU’s win over Syracuse.

      1. Bill Self’s coaching ability
      2. All our shooters lighting it up!!
      3. KU being able to keep it close on the glass despite ZERO post depth.

This brings me to my issue and I’m certain I’m not the only one that feels this way. I wonder if this game gave Coach Self the tingly feeling you get in your tummy when something spooks you right good. What would have happened if Mitch and Doke and Svi had fouled out of the game with a two possession deficiency in crunch time??
Well, we would have lost, that’s what would have happened. I mean, not being able to put a guy on the court that is over 6’5" in that situation MIGHT be a bit of a problem.

What might a good answer to this potential problem be?? Letting that big football/basketball player walk on come up off the bench. I mean cuz lets be honest. De Sousa has to score higher on that test or he aint comin til next fall. Preston has to get cleared of all wrong doing and that’s probly not coming soon. So our primary and secondary options for best case are seemingly no longer viable. WE HAVE TO GET ANOTHER BIG. NOW.

      End of rant.

      Good win Jayhawks.

    • To Boot Camp or to not Boot Camp. That is the question.

Touching off a topic that is bound to gain momentum as the summer progresses and based on how KUSA finishes its final games in the WUGs, I have started to think about the increased potential for injury to our boys in blue.
Say we win the Gold in the WUGs and say Coach plays Frank and Selden and Perry 35+ minutes to do it. Then should he not consider paring down or eliminating altogether his beloved “boot camp?”
@Jesse-Newell makes a great point in his pod cast about the risks associated with playing our guys too much and even winning the WUGs, while a great accomplishment, would be all for naught basically, should One More of our guys get injured in the process.
The mental and physical requirements for recovery would last well into the upcoming season and not just for the potential player injured but for the team as well. KU is really turning it on right now. I mean those guys are so close to forming the kind of chemistry needed to put a team on the court that could achieve something comparable to the '08 and the '12 teams! Its literally right in front of us.
To see it go down in flames with another major injury to one of our boys is something I would rather not have to deal with.

My point; I do not think Boot Camp is needed this year, at all. None, zero, zilch, nada, zip, done, gone. Once we win a medal, be it Gold or Silver. Coach needs to let our team rest. He needs to give them some good time off to recover and give Hudy the reins to the teams’ health and fitness regimen during the last weeks leading up to the fall semester and even going into Late Night possibly. Selden is absolutely Killing it right now and Frank is absolutely Sherron 2.0. We need those guys and the rest of the team to play exactly like they are playing right now come March Madness.
If they cant due to an injury sustained this summer or fatigue built up from this summer that could have been prevented, then this goal that we have to see KU into the final four next spring could end again with an early NCAA exit.

By no means to I want to see Coach let off the gas and fall short of a medal. But, there has to be a way to do it safely and with minimal risk of injury as possible to our boys.

    • RE: HUDY'S IN CHARGE NOW.

@MoonwalkMafia @elpoyo I totally disagree guys. Of course I cant speak for every KU fan but for my self, my view is two fold.

One, the Big 12 conference streak will reach 12 this year, well lets just say, it is extremely likely that it will. What other coach in a power conference has done this in the last 30 years? Noone, thats who. The last coach to win 12 in a row was Coach Wooden. On this fact alone, coach Self is reaching legendary status. If the streak reaches 12 this year and 13 next year, thats just bananas!

Two, I want KU to win a national title every year. Every one. But, I am also a realist. The college game has changed a lot since '08, the last time KU won it all. Its the shoe stacking era and like @jaybate-1.0 says, the chips are stacked against KU - Adidas and the balance of power is skewed towards Nike-UK and Nike - Duke and even Nike - west coast schools like Cal and Az. Not to mention the apparent refereeing favoritism that is painfully evident when refs swallow their whistles every time ( seemingly ) that KU gets fouled intentionally. Was any whistle blown when Perry got his nose bashed in? Dont think so. Ok, so thats not an NCAA game but still, you get my point I hope. KU just cannot win the uphill battle in the NCAA’s every year. The best chance KU has to reach the national title game is to win the conference, win or take 2nd in the big 12 tourney and get a 1 seed in the Midwest or South bracket, closer to home, closer to our #1 fan base. We won it all in 08, got to the final four in '12, sweet 16 in 04 and 07, '11 and 13? I think? My point here is we are due for an excellent year this year. If everything falls into place like it should. We are due. We have a very talented, deep and experienced team. KU’s best teams have had just that perfect mix of talent, depth and experience. We have that now! Even in the worst case scenario if Diallo doesnt get cleared, which he will, I believe that Perry, Bragg, Mickelson and Traylor/Lucas will be just fine. If Diallo has to sit for half or a whole season, Bragg will step up. He will. And, Mickelson will gain momentum going into the season from what he did in the WUGs.

Lastly, I dont like to see KU get beaten early in the NCAAs. Its just a terrible end to the season. I still cant get over the fact that we should have gotten to the final four in 13 against Michigan. EJ blew the game for us and he will always be in my dog house for it. The year we lost to Stanford while sitting JoJo and watching an overmatch, young but talented KU team get schooled by Stanford was killing me. So my point here is NO, I am absolutely not complacently accepting an early round exit when it happens. I want more. But I also realize the truth in what I said above and this year, I hope, will be a major defining moment for KU again.

      Rock Chalk!!

    • RE: Macro vs. Micro, Myopia, and Feelings

@HighEliteMajor Solid post with solid points of perspective. A few questions come to mind. Lets look at the 08 team vs this team. The 08 team had mostly juniors and seniors as does this one. Shady and Collins were the only Sophomores if I am not mistaken. Rush, Chalmers both Juniors. Everyone else Senior. Shady started as a soph, didnt start as a rookie. Collins could have started.

Bragg and Diallo could be comparable to Shady in terms of athletic ability. I honestly dont remember if Shady was strong enough to hold his spot on the block during his freshmen year, or if he was savvy enough to play good help defense, or where his offense was. Im sure a quick check on Kenpom could answer a couple of those questions.

Quick Caveat: I am not saying I think Lucas and Traylor are even close to Kaun and DBlock in this comparison.

From what I have seen now is that Bragg and Diallo have such issues and consequently need time to develop. They wont get starters minutes until Coach is satisfied that they are ready. But I agree that he has to GIVE them that time to develop.

I think Coach Self has to give them this time to get better. He risks too much in the future. Losing credibility with future recruits in terms of being able to see the court and losing face with the Jayhawk nation for not letting his players develop on the court.

Remember Cole on that 08 team? Freshmen, didnt play a lot until the UNC game. All American his Junior year, lottery pick in the draft. He needed time to develop.

Another point Id like to make with this comparison is that KU won it all in 08 and this years team is very comparable to that one. KU will make another deep run in the tournament this season. They have all of the pieces. Its been 4 years since '12 and 8 years since our NC. We are due, its gonna happen. And, I also believe that Coach Self will let Bragg and Diallo play more. The reasons for out number the reasons against. I can see both Diallo and Bragg having games late in the season and possibly into March Madness that could be difference makers for us, comparable to what Cole did to UNC. They are both too good, too talented for things not to click before too long.

One last final question. Could Coach Self be intentionally holding Bragg and Diallo back in the hope that they will come back next season? I mean, it would benefit him and KU if that happened.

I didn’t know Frank was sick!

Youre right though, way too many phantom fouls. Refs almost gave that game to Tech after 30 minutes.

I am concerned with our defense though. I mean, in late game crunch time its pretty rock solid. But when you look at the numbers per Kenpom, KU is ranked the lowest a Bill Self team has ever been ranked.

Frank is at the moment, my favorite Jayhawk ever. The thing that pulled my heart strings the most is when he said" If I could stay at KU four more years, I swear I would."

Tear jerker comment like that from a big badass like Frank. Game over, he is my favorite.

@jayballer54 Roy is in the HOF! I had to check my self bcuz I wasnt sure. He got in back in 07 I believe.

But still, head to head match up between Coach Self and WIlliams? I’ll take Bill every day of the week. He is undefeated against Roy. He beat him once when he was at Illinois and then 3 times since hes been at KU. Thats no fluke. He is just better.

    • That was a F***ing Big Boy game KU fans!

I have to admit that I thought KU had a better than normal chance at not winning this game going into it. I really did. I know, I must spend the rest of my day repenting my sins against The Phog.

But holy heck those guys battled tonight! They all did!
SVI coming up big again on both ends. That block he had on that fast break was some PRO S***!! Pro stuff.
Doke making those two free throws in a row with fairly decent form!? OMG! I about died! Malik just killing it out there. Mitch taking an absolute beating and keeping on ticking! That kid is unstoppable! DG being all like Frank Mason 3.0 Vick and Sam gave pretty good minutes too IMO. Those guys fought and fought and would not give up. They wouldnt lose tonight. It wasnt happening.
KU is 2 games up on the Big 12!

The only thing I am confused about is why did Coach Self pull Silvio after one single play on offense? I mean, the kid leaves off Wade for a half second to go help on defense and Wade gets a spot up 3 point attempt and makes it. BFD! KU had a fairly comfortable lead at that point. Any one of our guys woulda got scored on in that sitch. That kid Wade is a really good player. We need Silvio to be on the floor and thinking free without the fear of an early hook.

Joel Embiid is more than the NBA’s best follow

This article was a great read. Lots of really cool info about our Jayhawk, Joel Embiid.

One of my favorite things in this article is about how he has such a big heart and truly cares for the people of his home country.

Also, how he isnt materialistic at all! He just got PAID and he didnt buy a 20 million dollar home or a 500k sports car. He doesnt even drive! All he needs is video games and “a big ass TV.”

      Favorite NBA player.

    • RE: Kevin Kietzman's war on KU.

@wrwlumpy Well actually the amount of THC that stays in your system depends on how much and how often you smoke and how much water you drink and how fast your metabolism is and how heavy or light a person is. Its lots of factors. It can stay in your system for up to 45 days or longer. It can also be gone in as quick as a few days. Like I said, it depends on a lot of things. It doesn’t just stay in your system for that long in everyone who tries it. Am I outing myself a bit here? Yeah, I used to smoke weed when I was younger and I lived in Lawrence. I learned through trial and error how fast or slow THC can get out of my system. NOW, Im much older and wiser and I dont partake anymore. But I am also medically trained for a living and have done some actual research on the topic.

On Kietzman. This guy sounds like Jack Harry’s best friend. Who cares what that a-hole thinks or says.

Aaaaand, I just realized I left myself wide open for lots of jokes and possibly some hating too. ah well, its cool. I can deal with it.

He didnt blow his top, at all! At least not that I saw. There was no red faced chewing out his players on the side lines after a botched play, lazy/bone head defensive/offensive possession. There was no jawing at the refs after a non call or horrible call.

Im sure that representing the USA, being in another culture, not playing against Div 1 and Big 12 Refs and opposing coaches had something to do with this. But I just thought that was interesting.

    • #DialloFreed

      Ok Jayhawk fans. I just read this on ESPN and since there are some of you that dont have Espn insider access, I thought I would post this load of BS, just in case. It reads thusly;

The playing status of Cheick Diallo has been resolved, with the NCAA ruling Wednesday that the prized freshman can suit up for Kansas starting next week.

The NCAA’s decision ends a lengthy back-and-forth between the organization and the Jayhawks. Coach Bill Self held a conference call Saturday night to detail the steps the university had taken to work with the NCAA regarding Diallo’s eligibility. Kansas athletic director Sheahon Zenger also sent a letter to the NCAA detailing the Jayhawks’ view that the organization had mishandled the player’s case.

      EDITOR’S PICKS

Jayhawks fans rejoice as #FreeDiallo campaign has a successful ending Kansas received some welcome, if belated, news on Wednesday, as the NCAA finally cleared prized recruit Cheick Diallo. Jayhawks fans were overjoyed. “I really want to thank the NCAA staff for guiding this process to a fair conclusion in what was a very complicated situation,” Zenger said.

Diallo, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward, will be eligible to play Tuesday, when the fifth-ranked Jayhawks host Loyola. Kansas currently is in Hawaii for the Maui Invitational, where it takes on No. 19 Vanderbilt on Wednesday night in the championship game. Diallo was allowed to travel with the team to the event.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, a thankful Diallo took to Twitter.

Diallo arrived in the United States from Mali midway through his freshman season in 2012, and spent the past 3½ years at Our Savior New American, a private high school in Centereach, New York.

In 2012, the NCAA placed Our Savior under review, which could have nullified Diallo’s core coursework.

The NCAA, though, confirmed that Kansas provided new information earlier this month, including an independent review of that coursework. Based on the information provided, the NCAA concluded that Diallo received a limited amount of extra benefits and thus would have to miss only Kansas’ first five games.

“Our goal is to have eligibility decisions made prior to the start of a student-athlete’s season,” said Oliver Luck, the NCAA executive vice president of regulatory affairs. “However, this was a complicated case involving international transcripts and a high school that remains under review. Additionally, staff considered a complex set of circumstances regarding amateurism.”

Diallo previously told ESPN that he received an A and a B in two summer courses he took at Kansas. He is enrolled in 15 units in the fall semester.

“The decision today was nothing more than a pretextual justification for a flawed investigation,” Diallo’s attorney Don Maurice Jackson said in a statement. “There were no legitimate academic issue relative to Cheick’s secondary school education and no legitimate amateurism issues. … Conveniently, the fifth game of Cheick’s five-game suspension is [Wednesday’s] game.”

Diallo is considered the prize of Kansas’ recruiting class, a relentless rebounder ranked No. 7 in the ESPN 100. He has drawn comparisons to Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried.

Information from ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman and Andy Katz was used in this report.

** My quick takes on this are as follows**

Our lovable AD Zenger’s quote is very duplicitous. He is thanking the NCAA for doing the right thing, Finally! And, at the same time he is saying Hey NCAA you guys are a bunch of losers who have to be threatened with triple lawsuits AND have KU do your work for you just so you can save a little bit of the face you have left by saying it was complicated and the work we did and had done only took one week to finish, you inept idiots.

Im rolling my head back like I just had a stroke because the NCAA had the gaul to say they allegedly found that Cheick had improper benefits that were responsible for them holding Cheick out for 5 games, which they were totally going to do in the first place but didnt even know they were going to do that until yesterday???

I mean SERIOUSLY!? Who hired these jokers? Why do they continue to work while exhibiting the signs of patients needing frontal lobotomies?? This is such a joke!!

Poor Cheick. Im just glad the kid can play now. Its been a total sham, an absurd sham.

@jaybate-1.0 Yep. Absolute legendary status if he wins #12 with KU this year and makes it to, at the very least, another final four. I just mentioned in another post that the biggest threats to KU in the post season this year are not Kentucky or Duke or UNC or AZ with their Nike stacked programs. They are teams like Michigan St and Nova ( I still hate Jay Wright ) Virginia and OU.

KU can handle each of those teams come March, especially KU improves over the season.
