I suspect this team has “that dawg” in them. A defensive-minded team with a lot of length and athletes. Feels like we will be playing 4-out which is a significant upgrade over last year’s scheme. A LOT of potential on the roster in Flory, Elmarko, Rosario and DP. Solid veteran transfers.
It looks like a recipe for success to me.
We are still KU Football even ignoring the Gill to Miles era.
LL was too successful almost too quick for his own good. Fan expectations are wild.
We need to give LL time with all his new shiny toys before we even think about pulling the plug
@wissox said in TTech Game thread:
Well our defense gave us some moments but Tech figured it out with a backup QB. Lance has to figure this out because we have an offense that wins us lots of games.
They just don’t have the bodies on the DL. Was hopeful we did but they’ll need to evaluate this offseason.
That’ll do it. They gave us hope at least.
Also Kotelnicki may somehow end up coming out of that Penn State job without a job. Could have been our succession plan. Crazy.
This would be such a steal of a win. They are going to shoot up that QBs leg at half lol.
I don’t know what the answer is on offense. We can’t block their dudes.
A Stop and a score before half and this game is interesting again

Nike got it over the line with Stokes yesterday, announced formally this morning.
I think this one is okay, personally. Guy is a freak, but I hate having a guy you almost feel you need to feed the ball to just because of hype and future recruiting impact. Stokes, imo, lacks ballhandling and is going to be a guy who turns the ball over a lot at this level. Probably put up 2-3 insane highlights a game, but not sure it is a Bill Self fit anyways. Maybe that’s cope, but I’m not beat up about it. Don’t think he will be DP-level good in college. NBA may be a different story.
Kinney looks like a good player, but multi-year to me. Not exactly sure what to expect from him next year.
@Jhawk69 I like Coco, but nostalgia is such a factor for me
Definitive list no arguments, totally objective top 5 Pixar:
Honorable mention: Wall-E
And Kimmel is back. Funny, funny times
Two touchdown favorites tomorrow. First time in 15 years we have been that against a B12 team

Hmmm. I did reboot the HBOMax subscription not too long ago, but having second thoughts about sticking with it.
I admit that i really enjoyed two of their documentaries: Chimp Crazy and The Mortician. Crazy. I watched the latest Righteous Gemstones as well. That had its moments, but seemed a bit over the top – if that’s possible – this season.
There don’t seem to be too many new or worthwhile shows to watch that suit my tastes. What am i missing?
I am not a Euphoria kinda guy. Sooo depressing.
The old comedies like Veep and Silicon Valley are still top notch to rewatch, but what have they offered since then? I’m not finding squat worth squat. I see no classics.
Do they make comedies any more??
Season 1 of Eastbound and Down is good

I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
1 and 2 are obvious and incredible. That’s what you need to win a natty. Some level of selflessness.
What about Ochai when he pulled his redshirt? He did end up starting 16 of 22 games, but he played his way into the lineup (albeit in a disappointing season that was basically over after Doke got hurt).
In all the depressing news, I thought I would share some personal news as a reminder that life continues. Would encourage any of you to do the same! Good time to catch up on everyone!
I just had my 2nd kid about a month ago! Baby girl. Got one of each now, but living the 2-kids under 3 life. Its been a lot of fun. Got to spend a lot of time with my son while out on parental leave. Took him to his first Royals game (that he remembers) and now he won’t stop talking about baseball.
Also, sold my house about a year ago this time. It was a bit of fixer-upper when we bought it. I put a lot of my savings into that house to fix it up, and even more sweat equity. Sold it for more than I would have ever imagined after only being in it for 5 years. Was able to pay off all of mine and the wife’s student loan debts and are probably 3-4 months away from moving into our “dream” home!
I got my Master’s Degree about a year ago. I just started working on my CPA finally. About 10-years later than I should have but we can only look forward!
Hope most of you are doing well in life and you’re staying grounded in the stuff that matters most.

This is classic wag the dog.
This is not really about Kimmel and Kirk. However, the focus on them is really helpful to those want to continue to concentrate power.
Regardless of how you feel about Kirk, or really any person, it’s not right for their death and memory to be exploited and manipulated in this manner.
Whole thing has been disgusting. Every bit of it.
On the bright side I do own some Intel stock. Was finally in on one of the government grifts! (I’m still down like 10% on my initial investment lol).

@Kcmatt7 Agreed, but it is important to highlight that the FCC censoring people is a significantly bigger deal than private citizens being shitty people online.
Don’t disagree there. Crazy times
I think the best thing about this has been the hypocritical nature it has brought out in everyone.
The party of free speech and legalizing comedy is suddenly for state-forced censorship.
The party for cancel culture and has been spouting the line “freedom of speech does not meean freedom of consequences” is now mad that phrase is proving to be true.
FCC shouldn’t be censoring this. People celebrating an assasination shouldn’t be surprised to get fired from their jobs. Two things can be true. Jmo
My dad boycotted the NFL for the Kapernick stuff. He didn’t watch football for that full season at least, maybe part of the next. It isn’t to say that my dad and I have a poor relationship, we just don’t have a lot of common interests. But one of them IS the Chiefs! 6 months of losing out on one of the few things we had that we could chat about and bond over, to me, was really dumb.
Just one perspective on the whole thing. I’ll be tuning in to all the KU games.
I hate this sport when we are the ones doing dumb things.
Lots of fun when we aren’t.
College football

So our effort to not go anywhere on our last possession was remarkably successful.
Did we even try? I’m at the game. Very upset with the drive. Saved time to just puddle the fuck around?
Like I get the called timeouts. But we should have then instead tried to move the ball

All 3 transfer WRs have had a nice play now. Good to see
This is what I expected tbh. I called Pickett as the guy to watch a ways back. His film was great.
This staff rocks.
Pumped to see the guys tonight. My hopes are high. A lot of faith that this coaching staff is just doing everything the right way and that we are a bit of a sleeping giant program in a wide open B12.
JD6 going to have a huge season. Glad we lost Grimes. I think it was a bad mesh in the first place.
Most excited to see the new WR group I think.
Better team won. B12 going to be a dog fight

Watching KState v. IState in Dublin. Really glad college football is back
KSU lucky to not be down by 7+ right now. Rain definitely favors KSU. Hopefully a dryer 2nd half
Did no research. $100 on the hawks -12.5
Vegas odds are 6.5 wins, but it is weighted more towards 7 than 6 fwiw.
My opinion, JD6 should be sharper. I expect meltdowns to not be so horrific. I think the offense gets back its mojo.
7+ wins

My wife was just saying how it wasn’t that bad of a summer heat-wise. And then I had to remind her August is usually hotter than July…
I still prefer the heat to the cold
I wouldn’t expect the next coach at KU to be without a GM who does a lot of the recruiting negotiating on his behalf.

People… stents are common. I know many who have them for more than a decade.
It’s his 2nd heart-related issue in a few years. He’s 62. I just don’t think its worth it. There isn’t much more he can gain by continuing to coach from a legacy perspective.
Let’s just hope he can do a victory lap this year. But I don’t want to see the guy die on the sidelines here.
He’s somehow arguably the most successful coach in KU Basketball history. No shame in walking away at this point.
Bill Self big dawging Will Wade. You love to see it
Dude is an athlete. Hope he is a jayhawk more than 1 season. Lots of potential there

I’m just hoping we went back and shook the money tree after whiffing on a few guys and donors ponied up.

Paul Mbiya back in play. Decommitted from NC St. Just measured 6’9 with 7’8 wingspan. Would be 6th longest player in NBA for reference
Deep pockets got involved by the sounds of it. Hope they’re ours
Wouldn’t be disappointed by Konan based on the film.

They just can’t hit the damn ball
If Salvy and Cags start hitting the lineup changes dramatically…. Feels like this team is due for a run.
I’d also change the order around. Garcia, Witt, Cags (get him more fastballs), Vinnie, Salvy, India.
India needs moved out of the leadoff spot.
We should be thrilled they’re competitive at least. Future looks bright
