I don’t believe anyone is asking you to change your opinion on Garret, I am certainly not trying to do do. We all are simply expressing our own biased opinions which is what forums such as this are for.

in all fairness, all players have been saying all along that Charlie is the best 3 point shooter in the team; he just had not had a chance until recently to stay in long enough and get in rhythm to score like he is capable.

As far a not needing Marcus to score, Idon’t agree with that either. He needs to be a scoring threat either from the outside, mid-range or penetrating, otherwise teams can leave him unguarded and basically have 5 players defend 4 and one is going to be double teamed everytime which is not good.

I had high hopes for Marcus since it was reported that he had been working over the Summer with his uncle, who is a coach, fixing his shooting and was doing rather well. The problem is that apparently they tried making his poor shooting form more efficient and it did not make any measurable progress and the ceiling for that style is very low. Marcus needed to first, change his shooting form to the correct one with a much higher ceiling and second, improve the efficiency of his new style. I will guess next summer the staff will not let the uncle anywhere near Marcus.

Difficult situation. When several generations of the family have played for KU I will guess they expected some preferential treatment that apparently Miles was not willing to give. While I understand that the coach has to look for the best players available, given that there are scholarships available, perhaps a good will gesture would have gone a long ways and it is possible that the local pipeline might have been damages in the process.

UVA beat Wisconsin as well but it has one of the weaker schedules in Division I. I have mentioned before I don’t get why they are ranked so high.

If I recall correctly, it is expandable to 15,000 for concerts when they use part of the floor, for basketball it is limited to around 10,000.

The conference rankings are primarily based on inter-conference play since conference play has not started and the Big 12 is outperforming the others. These are objective rankings based on numbers and not on subjective opinions.

That is not even close to correct. The Big 12 is currently ranked 2nd by all ranking publications I have seen and barely behind the Big 10 and ahead of the ACC.

The ESPN PAC 12 crew was calling fouls the refs were not.

When the announcers, including PAC 12 fan Walton, are calling fouls…multiple times…and the refs are not it really says a lot about the refs.

With different refs KU wins by double digits. 22-12 foul difference.

Coach Self really pissed giving it to the refs.

I can’t think of a game wher KU got screwed by the refs so consistently.

KU getting screwed by the refs.

ASU 3-4 from 3 in this half.

KU 6 turnovers this half.

KU 1-8 from 3 in the second half.

Allowing way too many layups.

KSU 30-20 over Vanderbilt at the half.

UNC is overated. It has one good win over Gonzaga and bad losses to Texas, Michigan and Kentucky. Sagarin and a Pomeroy will have trouble justifying having them as #5 and #6 with 3 loses.

The team I still don’t get is Virginia which is ranked in the top 5 by most everybody even when they have one of the softest schedule in Division I and their only decent win was over an average Wisconsin team and today, they beat up that powerhouse William & Mary. Maybe they will get a #1 seed again and make double history by losing to a #16 seed…again.

I agree. Hard…or maybe no so hard…to tell how these players would done under a different coach at KU.

With the state of the football program in recent times, hard to blame the athlete. If I recall correctly Cozart did well at Boise State and now plays in the Canadian League and Ryan Willis is doing much better at Virginia Tech. than he did at KU.

Like I said, (much) smaller than the Sprint Center and more expensive. About the right capacity for basketball in Texas which plays second fiddle to football.

Grimes has not played well on offense but he has been good on defense. If you look at the Villanova game, when the game was on the line and KU needed defense, Coach Self put Grimes in; he obviously thinks he plays good defense and would be good shooting FTs.

That arena will be more expensive than the Sprint Center which is much larger and considered one of the better arenas in the country. Texas is football country and basketball will not replace it any time soon. The arena will be sold out only when KU comes to town, particularly the way the programs has performed (or not) under Shaka…who might not be there to see it built; another finish in the bottom half of the conference and Shaka is likely gone.
