Is it possible the big guys are playing a bit soft to avoid fouls, hence fewer rebounds? Given that the big guys spent a lot of time on the bench in the first half, it had to impact rebounding.

If Preston can return, those numbers should change (I would hope)…

Team looked great today behind Bean! Giving him reps with 1st string and letting him know he would start appears huge now. Also, thanks to the O-Line!

I’m seeing today that Kyle Cuffe Jr, (Syracuse) broke a hand and is out until the end of July. Kid can’t catch a break. The article said he still has 4 years eligibility.

There are articles and comments today regarding the “fun”the team was having. Newman had 8 points in the 1st 6 or so minutes and opened up his personality. Svi was his usual “all business” demeanor. Doke never smiles, like this is a lot of work! Looks like Devonté tries to have fun but carries the weight of the team on his shoulders. From a (very) high level, the team looks really stressed. Can HCBS get these guys to have fun yet play efficiently? Personally, I’d like to see more smiles and arm waving.

It is ugly, VERY ugly. I lost my wife to pancreatic cancer about 2 years ago. It took her in 6 months. She wasn’t the same physically or mentally after identification. Lost my mother to it, also.

As I understand it, supposedly Under Armour paid SDS’s guardian. The guardian had to reimburse UA when SDS decided to commit to Kansas and the guardian had to reimburse UA. Allegedly, that’s where Adidas stepped up and either reimbursed UA or the guardian for his payment back to UA. IMO.

Folks, I’m feeling relieved it’s over for this year. I never enjoy a KU loss and there was something missing this year, something undefinable. Was it lack a defined leadership, lack of “team”, lack of a will to win? The NCAA trial and investigation?

Maybe it’s as simple as a defense that can’t guard the 3 point line, a seeming common thread over the years.

At least now, we can discuss recruiting, hope for SDS to get cleared, see who’s returning, talk football and do any number of things. (Sigh) I know in my heart that this reasonably successful year is still a down year for KU fans.

This year started with such promise! It ended with yet another early round loss. But… hope springs eternal.

According to Gary Bedore’s Twitter account, Sosinksi is expected to be added to the squad for Wednesday’s game.

“Self said he’s been impressed with Sosinski as a kid, says he is bright and has picked up stuff quickly. Said he will be good for Azubuike, thus is expected to be added to team for Wed game. “He’s hard for Udoka to score on,” Self said.”

Bill is looking good! Lost a lot of weight…

Despite what HCBS said, I’d love to see Sosinski on the court for a bit.

So despite my pessimism coming into the game (crow served well done, please), KU was the only Big 12 team to win on the road today. Outstanding!

Jake Weingarten on Twitter is saying Kyree Walker might reclassify to 2019, with KU and Arkansas being the leaders. Additional comment is that KU now has a chance to land two 5* guards this year. Interesting…

KU is used to being on top, used to being the target, used to winning. Until other Big12 programs lose that fear and anxiety, the ROAD goes through Lawrence…

However, the difference this year is that KU has decent backup’s in SDS and Mac. Given enough game experience, they might hold down the back court. Also, quite a few 6’8”+ guys to help out.

@Texas-Hawk-10 - Watching Yesufu, I was impressed with his energy. He may not know what’s expected (he’s learning), but he’s trying hard! Seemed to look for rebounds around the boards and hustled!

FWIW, Chattanooga Mocs on ESPN @ 6, featuring Silvio De Sousa. He’s averaging almost 11 pts & 7 rebounds per game for them. Averaging about 20 min/game. 24/26 starts.

@Jethro - thought I’d saw, too, that KU has had 34 years consecutive years of NCAA tourney bids. Never below an 8 seed, meaning they’ve always played a lower seed during this time. Unbelievable! #JayhawkCrazy!
