@MR11 I’m sure you are spot on. And since he usually likes that 1:2:2, like @Texas-Hawk-10 mentioned, it definitely requires some practice.

Wow hard to watch Philon get to the hoop and dominate UK and then Zuby play 38 minutes as big dropping 33 on a ranked Marquette team. Hard not to think of what may have been with more intelligent roster construction. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a 100 times. Whomever is doing our scouting in the portal needs to be shown the door too many misses the last 3 years.

I think Rylan is the closest we have to a Remy comp. And Remy DEFINITELY got the quick hook and then also had weird injury stuff. I don’t think kj has any nba potential. What would he even do on an nba team? There’s also the old conspiracy that self is holding stuff back for when it really matters. Like maybe he has all of these plays drawn up to get Rylan shots and flory dunks but doesn’t want to show it too early.

Suddenly Self mentions how KJ is rebounding better and still has the most room for improvement.

@Zabudda We better not think we can go toe-to-toe in a game based on height. I’m hoping we try what we did in our last game and get out and run. We should be willing to try several things to see what works. This Duke team is crazy talented and tall. Not sure their weaknesses. I would think our best shot is to try to control the tempo and find a tempo we do well at and they struggle. Our on-ball and ball screen defense has to be energetic and pesky to disrupt their offense. I know one thing… Self better have stressed rebounding this past week. It’s the key to controlling tempo and possessions. KJ! Come on, brother! Get in there and fight!

@rockchalkjayhawk Top 15 recruit on the best high school team. Yes he’s a shooter and a really good one. Probably more excited about his improvements this year as a defender and putting the ball on the floor. His shooting is something else from the perimeter and hopefully will be a key piece to opening up this offense next season

@dylans said in Through The Fart...: Elmarko hahahaha. Dude just lost his starting job to Furphy. Harris is fine he just needs to pick up the tempo imho. He allows the defense to get set up when he slowly walks the ball up the court, every time. I just wish he could push the pace more to put pressure on the defense, but maybe he doesn’t have the energy to play 38 minutes and there is no good backup option. Dejuan is playing slow because 3 of the 5 starters are playing 35+ mpg since the first couple of games and Hunter is playing 30+ mpg. That’s why Dejuan is playing slow. We don’t have enough depth to give anyone but Hunter a break during games so playing slow is how Dejuan, KJ, and McCullar get their quick breathers.

@dylans I was always negative towards Shaka because I thought he was just a gimmick-guy who made it too far off just one good tournament run… but after they worked us so easily with x-axis ball I have a new perspective on him. I am wondering if he is an x-axis basketball savant. That game frustrated me as a Jayhawk fan but later I came to the realization his players are taught x-axis… the game is played more horizontally than vertically. Remember back to my x-axis posts? How much of the game is played above the rim? Just a tiny %. Who is one of our worst defenders? Hunter. Because his lateral pursuit stinks.

When I noticed CS sitting throughout most of the game I figured it was going to be an L. I didn’t see him turn red once, at times he looked like jumping up and then would just relax. Got the feeling he wasn’t coaching to lose but sure wasn’t screaming to win. Agree with the Jaybate no amp comment

I mentioned above putting together a thread where we show all game stats and we make it a nice permanent archive. We should do this… plus add in all helpful websites. Here is a good site to add… I especially like their Jayhawk All-Time Roster! Doesn’t go back far enough but still helpful. https://www.proballers.com/basketball/team/400/kansas-jayhawks/all-time-roster By adding in more resources to our site we lift the traffic to our site immensely. Especially from outside sources. This is good for us, and also for Jayhawk basketball in general!

@jayballer67 said in Is this the moment?: I know some probably won’t agree with this , I understand but I just hope and I don’t think he will - but even with Udeh progression a little I just hope doesn’t do something rsh and yank KJ from the starter spot - - -at least at this point and replace with Udeh. That would just be wrong in so many ways. KJ has busted his ass to earn that spot , and has really done nothing to lose it. - KJ can guard just about all 5 positions- - he will score some points for you - - at this point s many as Udeh will , he dives on the floor doesn’t mind getting dirty can block some shots — just flat out hustles. - - If something like that were to happen could screw him up big time. - - Not saying down the line some sure maybe Udeh get’s the start, even if he doesn’t gonna get plenty of minutes the way it is right now, actually benefits- -helps give KJ a break/rest. I just think at the present that move could only be a negative move and in the end mess with chemistry. Again not saying if Udeh continues to improve then a little bit then you do what needs done. - -Right now Udeh not quite there I don’t think anyone is saying bench KJ. Even if the minutes go 50/50, KJ has earned the right to start.
