Just viewed the Hawks second game in Puerto Rico and zI am really looking forward to the season. Size, speed, finishers, defensive-minded wings, rim protector, really good ball movement, good cutters, rebounders……Of course too many turnovers, unimpressive perimeter shooting but they are already doing so many things moving the ball and athletes to finishers and create shots. And pushing the ball for layups -and Dunks which build excitement. And having Furphy waiting in the wings with his particular skill set.

RE: Transfer Rumblings
@kjayhawks Why criticize a recruit that fits our needs? Just wanting another hs Lebron doesn’t mean we will get one-and everybody else is trash. Maybe we didn’t get Mgbako was because of posters like you who trashes everybody but the upper echelon recruits! I don’t get the the criticism of players who choose to play at KU.This isn’t Mizzou -show some class!

RE: 2023 Transfer Portal
@wissox I hate to see this as well, But… I see part of Self’s change cause of things like recruiting a new roster every year because of one-and-dones, transfers, SEC buying schools/athletes with TV contracts, the revolving door portal- if you don’t use the NIL can you expect to win? The ncaa was so concerned with the shoe money( only Adidas money-not Nike money??) and now has opened the floodwater with NIL (possibly to become an unregulated cash flow)!! It’s now TV money calling the shots. If we don’t compete we will no longer be able to win. The rules have changed! We’ll just have wait and see what happens and hope for the best!

RE: Tracking the Outgoing KU transfers
@dylans Braun doesn’t suck! He is exactly what we expected - a rim protector, a rebounder and can finish lobs! He Works at defense and passes well. Quit it with the run-em-off over criticism! We’re lucky to have him!

Is McDowell injured? Dnp against UConn. Furphy showed some improvement. I hope for steady improvement!
I thought he showed a little moxie in last few games. No show tonight- is he injured??

RE: Welcome Parker Braun!
@Jethro Remy was a shot creator. That’s why he was a good 6th man.He could take and make hard shots- but you couldn’t expect him to consistently make those shots over larger defenders. He was our “Microwave”! Not everyone can do that -or should do that.If Timberlake can stay outside and get passes from rebounds, drives and dishes, or double team team passes-he will be everything we wanted (if he can give us a good 3 percentage). We should be happy we got him!!!

RE: Team discussion after 10 games
@HoraceZontal I agree with remarks on Harris’ scoring deficiency. I suspect his is finishing his one-handed layup attempts in practice and just worries about getting blocked at the rim. But I look for him to start finishing there and when he does it opens up more lobs -he has good length required to finish despite his height!

RE: Transfer Rumblings
@TYOHawk I think they need Elmarko and Morris as scorers/creators/ rim attackers along with Kevin, Chris, Adams and maybe KJ from the elbow! That’s what they didn’t have last year. Timberlake and Jamari will find spots on the 3 line. Also clearly need rim cutters w/out the ball to allow floor spacing. It looks like they have good enough talent to make a run. Another 4-5 that can score, defend and rebound would be great-IF he does not demand PT but earns it! Also should be a several year player. Still a lot of questions answered.
