@BShark Every case is different, and listen to the doctors, but your “cure is as bad as the disease” comment made me remember one of my uncles. He suffered with prostrate cancer and went through all the procedures - chemo, radiation, etc. When he was on death’s doorstep he said no more “treatment”. He lived another relatively good 12 years. If you’re inclined, you’re already praying. If not, a bunch of us are praying for you, for your brother. Hang in there.

@kuballin10 I do still think this topic is generally true as a whole tbh. People expect huge leaps from returning players and that has happened with some guys it’s because they put the work in. Others like KJ were just genuinely about already maxxed out when they got here. His per 40 stats are pretty similar every year for example and he was a hard worker. Some guys just can’t develop in some aspects.

Felt like Bill Self WAS KU Athletics for a good stretch. Back when we sucked at other sports. He was always calm and well spoken and reasonable in a time where other larger than life coaches seemed like ungracious turds. Was easy to put all our faith in Self for a long time. Even when the recruiting violations landed, it felt like Self and us against the world. Other big programs doing the exact same shit and getting off scot free. Bill and KU Bball were one and the same for a long time. So, it’s hard to not think about things in that context, I get it. But Bill himself said “you need to look at things in 5 year chunks, maybe less than that now”. And that’s a 2 way street. How he’s seeing the job, and how the job (and us) are seeing him.

Helps having the covid year All I was told is he’s a winner whether in practice or games. The issue is the last 3 years we’ve done some of the least amount of winning in actual games for decades so I’m thinking self puts way too much emphasis on practice W’s versus actual elevating his players and helping them all play their best to win

@approxinfinity If your contention is Storr is a good basketball player and Self needs to go I believe the gulf in how we view the game is too wide to overcome. But here is where I’m coming from. Storr is no good at being a teammate, I’ll stand by that. The ball movement already isn’t great, but he’s a black hole on offense and his defense is atrocious. If he could figure out how to switch and help on D he would get some run. However his advanced stats show that he is the same player for KU he was at Wisconsin - the difference is his usage is actually down from 32%!!! at Wisconsin to 22% at KU but it hasn’t made him any more efficient. @approxinfinity My wife and I were watching as she’s a solid soccer player back in the day The announcers call of the goal was phenomenal….one of the best I’d ever heard (I’m not a soccer guy but his excitement had me on the edge of my seat)

It was the best Clemence has looked since his freshman season. Fun game. Guys are generally finding their way in the system and, in some ways, they look good simply because this group is shooting better. Next up @Creighton… will be difficult.

Im not down on Zach either. He seems to have active hands on D. He doesnt seem to finish well but he can bring energy, 5 fouls and size and thats useful.
