I’m also okay with it. Stokes is nowhere near DP’s level. The stars aligned to build your current year around a generational freshman but rarely if ever that magic strikes in consecutive years and let’s be honest you shouldn’t go to the well every year expecting a freshman to lead. The 26 class just isn’t good and I think it’s wise to spend cautiously on it. They pursued to the end which was the right thing. I think this does allow the staff to be aggressive in the portal next spring in ways they weren’t allowed to be this offseason. Will be crazy regardless

Sounds like the pursuits of Christian Collins, Brandon McCoy are going nowhere. Ariza is deciding soon between Oregon/USC soon. Just rounding up some names KU was linked with in recent months.

If Adkins commits Sunday as planned KU will have the #2 ranked class in 26 for now. Bardwell’s decision today could sway this later on next year if he moves to 26 class. As it looks KU is probably done until spring you would think for next year.

That sucks but was kind of the theme since his visit here a while back. Guess they can big spend on a top transfer to be the guy in 26-27

Thanks, he looked bigger in videos so that makes sense. That’s a really good wingspan for a wing. No complaints on this one, especially if there’s something to develop over a few yrs

Perry visit went well and they are in a good position with him but Swain did mention it could take a bit for that situation to sort itself out.

I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.

I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.

My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.

Wow, congratulations on the 2nd child. You certainly have had a lot of big changes in life recently and it’s probably pretty cool to look back on them.

Nice little recap of where top 2026 targets stand as of late. Several others not mentioned that are top targets (Adkins, Ariza, Collins, Holt, Stokes, Adams). Seems like KU is definitely in it with the right kids from what is not a strong class. Recruiting definitely on the upswing.

Sounds very promising for Taylen Kinney (#13 overall). Top ranked PG on the board. One to monitor closely as he finishes his visit schedule this month.

Ethan Taylor- KU still a perceived Top 2 with Indiana right now, he does have several more officials including KU upcoming.

Sounds like KU is getting involved with Brandon McCoy the #6 overall prospect. A visit to KU could be in the works.

Trent Perry (#120 overall) visits this weekend, has only 2 other planned visits (TCU, Vandy, Maryland also finalist). KU offered in late August.

Alex Constanza, #22 ranked player also visits this weekend. Haven’t heard of him being a prospect until now.

Yeah this offseason should have benefited him the most. I don’t particularly think he has the body type that’s meant to put on a lot of mass as you want him to be the athletic specimen he is but natural maturation should help him be more of a post anchor this yr. I’m interested to see his skill development as much as anything. Self sounded very pleased with his progression this summer.

I have done the same when it comes to KU Football. I’m watching the games and following the ins and outs for my fellow bucketeer friends who want the fb team to be good consistently. I have enjoyed following Lepoid as an outsider.

Are you familiar at all with the drama that happened prior to the final episodes being released? That also took over 1 year before the final episodes were released. It is what it is and not an uncommon theme for tv shows that get so big and have such following for the wheels to fall off towards the end.

Hearing Elmarko has been really good and could push to start. Dawson is a really good 6th man if needed.

Rosario has signed with KU and it’s official. Nice work shutting down his other visits and getting him signed. Decent shot at carving a role as a freshman as a wing shooter. We’ll see if he can defend anyone.

Demir is still working on eligibility, Mbiya is eligible… Sounds like one of them is more likely then both. Also sounds like one of them is more likely then Konan.

Sounds like Demir will be a hawk if he can get eligible. Mbiya is also in play, as well as Konan. Konan has eligibility stuff as well. Rosario sounds promising. Looks like the final 3 spots could come from this group

Looks like we might lead for Rosario who’s very likely to end up in 25. Just saw his rank go from 120’s to 45. Just wrapped up a visit here

Perhaps, they seem to be further along with Demir though. If both are attainable, why not, if choosing 1, I’m going with Demir who’s a clear fit here.

Demir tried to get admitted to UCLA back in 2022 and it didn’t happen.

Reason from Swain: He wasn’t admitted because he didn’t earn a qualifying score in English as a foreign language, per our UCLA website. Things have improved since then. Big picture, it sounds like he should have a better shot at getting eligible than Brice Dessert did.

McDowell is likely going to seek a medical waiver for his year at Jax St, he’s played 4 seasons but likely has a case for the 1 year so that’s why his situation isn’t settled either.

Sounds like another that they will have to pray is eligible. Would certainly be an ideal option if they can

Dessert is not coming due what sounds like significant issues with his situation. He was a pro player so perhaps issues with eligibility. Perhaps visa or other paperwork concerns. Sounds like they were red flags with him being here so its a no go.

We are good at finding the 1 international player that has issues. We have a well established history of it

Maybe they did pass on both, but neither was expected to be a year 1 high impact dude. I don’t remember Jemison ever visiting here (or having serious interest) and while SWA did visit they seemed to have him lower on the pecking order at the time. We also have no idea what NIL # they were looking for & could KU afford it. There’s an obvious reason KU only signed 2 HS players this year, 1 being one of the most expensive in the country (for good reason).

I’m not going to make much excuse for the outcome of the offseason but it’s kind of felt like there’s no roadmap to follow & there’s been a crazy amount of circumstances that have made it difficult to be successful in the KU bubble alone.

The focus is still a big and a wing, the last spot could go to another front court type.

This offseason has been mostly forgettable
