2023 Recruiting

Well seen this the other day , and saw again today off Rupp Rafters. 2023 recruit has been to KU. At the present time he is a 6’10 pg he won’t end up being this in college , has decent handles but not pg handles for College. His name is Matas Buzelis out of Wolfeboro NH Brewster Academy.

If any others have more info other then what I post feel free to fill us in. Not sure why I’m wasting my time as other posters all they he is a lock for their school , so then guess there si no chance in hell for us to be involved lol.

Eric Bossi wrote him up saying they hadn’t updated rankings for quite awhile but this kid currently 43rd but 32 generated composite is in line for big jump probably top 10 , right now he has unoffically been to U Conn , Depaul , Purdue , & KU and also planning on going to WF & Florida state.

Got this today of Rupp but like I said no chance cause poster from Arizona is Arizona’s lock team to beat - -Another said he is a Duke lock & then Uk posters saying if Cal has been to see him and Cal wants him he is UK’s - dam must be nice to just be able to lock up a kid cause people say so lmao. Don’t even know why others recruit if thats the case.

He has had a huge group come see him at open gym almost all the big boys : UK - Duke - - N Carol - -Mich - -Illi - -Ariz - - Mich St - -Syra - -U Conn - -KU - -& UCLA so far Just not sure Three Schools have him as a lock for their School and we know if they say so then so let it be written -so let it be done. - -there is only ONE problem. we have three schools saying he is a lock for their school BUT there is only ONE KEY - -dammit I hate it when that happens lol. - -Anybody have any info on the kid seriously. Does KU have any kind of shot with him ? He said he really enjoyed his visit loved the facilities let us know. - -B Shark ? - -Farmer ?

I inquired about him since my buddy coaches at Brewster. A lot of interest for him and he’s entertaining just about all of it. There is mutual interest from what he can read about what Matas is saying

Thank you. - -So at least we have some interest, both ways it sounds needs to add some weight but looks like he can bury the J -not good enough handles to be a pg in P-5 College ball but decent I think he is fully aware he will not be a pg in College. Someone to keep an eye on see how it goes. Thank you.

At least sounds like we got in early, not that it means a whole lot but he said he really liked when he was at Ku. I mean just saying he got to talk with Coach and loved the facilities - -gonna be a war ,and who knows maybe he is a lock for one of those many many other schools that all their fans say. Of UK fans say if cal is interested then it’s a wrap he will be Uk always the case according to their fans. lol

UK fans are on there asking the Duke posters - -the Arizona posters what makes them such an expert as to way they think the guy is a lock for their School. I guess no one is entitled to say that other then UK.

I did see on Rivals future cast that there was one prediction and it was 100 % KU BUT we know that doesn’t mean squat cause anyone can get on there and cast their vote for where a kid is going. - someone to keep an eye on though -who knows.

Couple of guys , not sure if mentioned for 23 but either KU is interested in or mentioned KU they are # 31 Assane Diop 6’10 Center out of Denver Colorado. - -raw in overall development - -great motor - - flashes of Ball skills – -great frame. Other Schools are Denver , Illinois , Maryland , & Memphis.

Then the # 53 ranked player of 23 is 6’9 PF out of Duncanville Texas - -hmmm seems like w had another big boy from{ DuncanVille Texas - -who was that guy lol } - Barnes skilled face up 4 guy excellent size and length . - -Has unoffically visited - Baylor - - SMU - - & KU

Guys to keep our eyes on - - who knows

I loved me some Aldrich… He had a great three year(?) career. He was bigtime in our Final Four (first time that he was really used, right?) matchup against UNC. My god, Psycho T had better days - over the top, over the top, rinse and repeat.

Carlyle wants to commit before the grassroots season starts in 22. Already officially visited Baylor & Georgia this fall. Going to Stanford this week. Wonder if we’ll see him visit KU in-season for a big game…

2023 6’5 Combo Guard Chris Johnson #37 overall (jumped 30+ spots) in latest update will officially visit KU sometime this season it looks. We made his top 7. Jeremy Case leading the charge. Has already made officials to Arkansas/LSU. He is from Texas and also wants to see Georgia. Has Houston, Texas & Texas A&M in his Top 7 as well. Nothing noteworthy on KU here besides him wanting to official here. Seems like he’s going to commit sometime this season

2023 Guard Jeremiah Johnson #38 overall- Kansas: “Bill Self and Jeremy Case has been recruiting me. I took two unofficial visits there. I like that program because it is a winning program and a main priority for me is winning. Also, they have shown a lot of loyalty by staying with me throughout all that has happened.”

Johnson was shot this summer (context to his comment about them staying loyal).

Well read an article about a couple of 2023 recruits. - -One I think we might have good chance at , the other ummm probably not. Just from what he said

The one I really don’t think A LOT of interest from them is # 12 Matas Buzelis - - pretty much said Duke , Kentucky & Kansas was there watching him talking about taking visits and what have you then when it came to KU he said he text’s them , calls them but he just don’t know

The one who at least sounds like he is interested in KU and KU Townsend was watching him the same day as Matas same Schools there watching KU- - Duke - -& Kentucky Tayler Bol Bowen , # 23 in the class of 2023 , Bowen said : Norm is the one who offered him and Norm came to Brewster and Tayler was very excited to see him , to see him walk in the gym. Tayler said I just want KU to be part of my recruitment and it’s a blessing to have them as part of my recruitment for sure.

That to me sure sounds like he is pretty interested in KU , the question is - - - is the feeling mutual it vey wll might be if Norm offered - we shall see

Good athlete. Offensive game needs some polish and development I was told but length and size for days. Will need weight room too… Hard worker and good kid. KU definitely in there on him. Obviously they r recruiting Buzelis but his recruitment is already a bidding war
