This is exactly how I see it as well. Self can make it clear Grimes is gone but until something is official you never know. Not that Self would lie about it but coaches do lie and I don’t play Rod for having RJ wait toooo much.

Boy is he ever , I’m just probably making to much out of things but - - man just seems when ever there is the slightest opening it’s like he would be preferring anywhere but Kansas- - -thing is it is not his decision. Yet he holds a lot of weight.
In the end I still think we win out. - -I think it for sure is between Memphis and KU , when it all is said and done - -with that being said he DID say that Memphis was crowded , and on top of that he said about Tech that Beard was a great Coach - -BUT so was Penny and then he said so is Bill. - just think Tech is not a factor.
Really liked how he talked about Doke & Devon and such - -we will see

Not that preseason ranking matters at all, but if Kansas gets Hampton and Wilson I don’t see how they aren’t preseason 1. This is assuming Dotson is back too.

My first thought was that this has the earmarks of a Memphis announcement, and ESPN slobbering all over Hardaway and his #1 recruiting class. The next UK b.s. We’ve had so much negativity, it’s hard to turn to positivity. I’m trying.

Skepticism is warranted. We’ve been snakebit by these things a lot. The last kid we got on an ESPN announcement was Billy. Whoops.

@FarmerJayhawk Seems like a lot of KU commitments lately announce on social media or just announce something at their school. Seems like Self/KU don’t care how they do it, whereas some of the other bigger schools might to drive up hype?
Still feel great about Hampton though.

@HighEliteMajor I was thinking similarly. It’s more of a story if he goes to Memphis and gives Penny a #1 recruiting class and a team with a really strong chance to win a national title. Or if he surprises everyone and picks Michigan because of Juwan Howard, and then they can write stories about rekindling the old Fab 5 and how Howard is going to create a new Fab 5 or something. A Kansas pick is kind of boring.
