I’ve really liked Dotson tonight.

Dotson is a dude. He’d be a double digit scorer easy on a team not so stacked.

It’s w/e but ESU basically gets to murder Doke and Dave inside lol. Tends to happen when the other team is undersized.

I’m really liking Dotson’s play. Dotson to Dedric on the fast break for a layup should be a regular thing this year.

The good news is that most of the turnovers are self-inflicted and KU can clean that up. I was expecting some sloppiness with so many new players playing together.

I do think we need to slow the pace on O a bit. I know that playing an inferior team usually speeds you up, but this team can’t run and gun this same way all season, imo.

He definitely doesn’t feel comfortable on the perimeter or off the ball. He’s used to being ball dominant and in the lane. It’ll take a bit for him to adjust I think.

Strangely, I’m no longer worried about the point guard play. Dotson and Moore have been great. But, what’s up with the front court? Except for Dedric, the front court didn’t show up.

2nd half observations: We can rebound. Dedric is still good. Grimes is still good. Dotson is a solid PG. A lot of coachable things we can improve upon.
Overall, a good 1st day imo.

Moore has shot good, but overall this game I think he has been below average as a PG. Like, entry passes and initiating the offense have not been really good for him. I’d prefer Garrett in that role even.

@stoptheflop KJ and Garrett can play the 4. Agreed, Doke and Mccormack were not good, and Vick shouldnt have ever played the 4 in the first place, but did not look good at the 3.

Alright so the only thing I was really disappointed in tonight was Doke. He looked bad. He needs to be better.
The turnovers and the slow 2nd-half are typical things with young/new teams.
