I dig. More of a wing than guard but could be a nasty 2/3 in a couple years. Also shooting 35% from 3 and 72% from the line this year. Love his frame. Dude is large.

First impression, well built kid. Tattoo game on the right arm is lit. Can definitely shoot the 3. Dropped 50 in a recent game. Decent handles/athletic ability. 4 year guy.
For those wondering Donovan Williams- Former Nebraska commit #146 6’5 SG 190 from Lincoln Nebraska.
Since decommitting he’s taken unofficial visits to Oklahoma St, Kansas St in 2020. Will be interesting to see if they offer

Going small with Wilson and Enaruna playing the 4. Dave starts at the 5, Silvio and Mitch as backups. The competition for who starts at the 4 will be fascinating to watch

Kansas became the latest school to reach out on Monday and will send an assistant to watch Williams on Tuesday.
“They said that they’ll probably have a few guys leaving next year with graduation, a couple to NBA and also transfers,” Williams said Monday. “So they really need a guy like me who can spread the floor and shoot the ball. They are looking forward to recruiting me and they’ll be at my game tomorrow.”
Although he has nothing set yet, Williams says he may visit Kansas in the near future.
“I don’t have any visits planned. I’m going to wait until the season is over,” he said. “Kansas wants me down on Feb. 24 against Oklahoma State so I might make that trip.”

Interesting he mentions transfers… I can’t really think of a good transfer candidate, but if I had too pick I would say Tristan.

Silvio would be my guess but haven’t heard anything for sure. I’d love for him to stay and actually have a great year.

We have 3 centers and 2 wing/forwards on the roster if no one leaves early.
Then you have a bunch of guys capable of playing the 4 as well albeit a bit more undersized.

from the little tid bit I read on the kid - -sounds like maybe interest as soon as we say we very well could be recruiting him and are going to be at his game - - he says he might very well visit KU - pretty quick response from him on this I think if we get seriously involved we automatically become serios contender.

Still having some trouble. Mainly with threads that are very long like the 2020 recruiting. Like 1,146 posts on this and never fails on this thread have to scroll all the way through to get to the most recent kinda sucks

I really don’t think there is anyone considering transferring at this point but you never know. What a kid says to a reporter, and what he actually heard and what the reporter actually heard, can be worlds apart. Probably more of a factor that Self has to account for not only graduation and NBA entrants, but also the possibility that someone may transfer (although at this point there is no indication of said transfer, but Self has been caught off guard before and is covering all his bases - type response to a recruit).

@1JayhawkLifer Mentioned this on the phog but I agree, it’s likely just Bill covering his bases here. He wants it to be known there is room, IF KU offers.

Yeah, unsurprisingly I haven’t seen anything about an offer from KU or Oregon (believe they are also “showing interest”).

I would say (now that I’ve rethought it) that the transfer, if at all, would come from Silvio - just my thinking. After what has transpired this year - the chair and his play - I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to hear that Coach kind of nudged him in that direction.

As far as Silvio goes I just don’t see Self moving on from him. The amount of money and time the university has invested in him is pretty significant. Also, it’s clear Self has a soft spot for him. He also has a pretty serious GF at KU…
Now maybe he wants a change of scenery but I doubt that as well.

I just don’t see it with this kid. Not a p5 level athlete. Looks like a late emergency add if needed. He apparently won’t decide until April so it seems like he is aiming high and hoping a big school gets desperate.

I still would take him over Josy. 6’5, physically built who can shoot. If that’s the 13th guy you can’t really complain
