Sean Miller’s ability to recruit continues to blow my mind. I thought he’d come back down to Earth when he couldn’t pay guys. Nope. I’m just so confused.

VIP article on 247 about Stanley’s visit. Sounds like KU did everything they could to position themselves well in this.
Scott gave out this quote for free so I feel okay copy pasting it

Also in the other Late Night visitor category, rumors persist that N’Faly Dante may reclassify to 2019 come spring. I don’t look for KU to be a huge factor if we land JRE and Hurt.

Wiseman only comes here if the Lawson’s have a better relationship with their family than anyone knows about. I could see a scenario where Dedric/KJ/Chandler/Keelon are able to sell KU from behind the scenes.
But that’s about our only shot, imo. Besides that Adidas and Nike could also still be influencing this with “theoretical” endorsement offers after his one year. Let’s not pretend the shoe war is 100% over lol. Just good business to leave an Adidas school on your final list…
At least this will probably be over in November.

Nnaji can definitely play the 5, he’s 6’11’’. Don’t really NEED to take a true center with McCormack around. He will be good enough in that role when needed next year.

@BShark but that’s all we will have is Big Dave. I think at this point we have to assume both Silvio and Doke are gone. I think we need to find a center in this class. I think wouldn’t be surprised if they turn the heat up on Cockburn in the coming months hopefully we can get a visit.

Kofi is a wide body but he’s basically Azubuike with a limited offensive skill set and doesn’t protect the rim for a player of his size either.
I think Self would prefer to get 2 of JRE, Hurt & Nnaji for their versatility. Hurt & JRE have experience playing with each other, Nnaji played with Hurt as well in AAU.
One of Hurt/JRE is a must. If Nnaji is the other big you get a near 7 footer with a lot of potential. I think that could be ideal situation

@Woodrow Disagree. The game has changed. Doke was unplayable against Villanova. McCormack is a bit more mobile than Doke but we will have to see how he progresses. I don’t see needing another bulky center. I’d much prefer to see flexible bigs added. We should find out if KU is really involved when Kofi sets up his OVs. KU is the best program left on his list for sure. I do like that KU stayed involved though. If KU misses on Hurt and JRE (not as crazy as it sounds, imo) then adding Nnaji and Kofi would be a hell of a rebound. I would still much prefer JRE and Hurt since they have much more polished games at this point.

@BeddieKU23 There has been talk with Nnaji now being involved, sure doesn’t hurt with - - Hurt. - -with both of them playing on the same AAU ? right might help in Hurt’s recruitment or visa versa. - - Nnaji is coming this weekend for his Official would be nice if he commits shortly afterwards - -probably won’t happen but can always hope. - Like you we sure could use some form of two out of three combo – -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Oh I agree that if you get Hurt and JRE it is a moot point. I agree the game has changed and true centers are becoming extinct but I still think someone like Doke is extremely valuable. I also think Self prefers to have a true center on his team…

I’d agree with that, I just think McCormack qualifies (he’s 265 pounds), you don’t really need two.
