Again Like I said earlier- it COULD be that when we had the in home visit with him- just knocked it out of the park - -Strange that we are listed as the only official visit listed for him AND right after we visited is when that was announced and THEN NOW there is talk he will be announcing tomorrow.–

Oregon adds a Juco Shooting Guard. Interesting? Has to be related to Stanley.

Here is a story by Tait on Stanley. It would be a nice get for KU but West Coast players tend to stay there and I would think USC or even a UCLA or Oregon is the likely destination although it appears KU has made some progress lately. He is coming to Late Night and it would be KU’s best chance to get him

@BeddieKU23 Lol. If he isn’t committing today there is a shot. I would say not a very good shot but you get him on campus and who knows.
Even without him Self has had worse guard/wing rosters than Dotson, Moore, Garrett, KJ, Agbaji, Braun, McBride.

@JayHawkFanToo Braun had an OV to Oklahoma scheduled when he committed to KU. Sam Williamson had two more OVs scheduled after Louisville. Means nothing if the kid wants to commit.

I swear something is weird with him picking so early. Not his personality type to not drag this out as long as possible. It is either him trimming his list or it is him picking now because he wants to come in early. He is 19 years old already, and would be 20 by the time he got on campus next season. He HAS to show out in college next year if he wants to make it to the NBA. Would not be shocked to see him pull a Hamidou Diallo.
Fwiw, UCLA is 3 over right now, with no seniors. But they should have at least a couple of guys go pro out of that team. Still, getting 4 to leave seems like a stretch. PT seems like it could be a stretch if Ali and Wilkes are still there. Add in Jules Bernard to that group. I just don’t see it.
USC is full on scholarships. Would have to force someone out or hope someone goes pro. But if that relationship is done, that’s crazy to me. Much better chance at good PT there than UCLA or KU.
Oregon has scholarships available. PT available. I’d think they have to be the favorite upon further examination.
KU obviously has a scholarship available. They also potentially have a starting spot to offer him. But not as much PT as Oregon.

@BShark That’s my thought on it. I know we’ll have Lightfoot and Big Dave in the front court…perhaps a Silvio, or would they entertain go to a 4 out with KJ? Looks like we’re going to need some big guys, too.

Ryan thinks Cassius is cutting his list to three & those three will be, UCLA , KU & Oregon. He says it’s a huge bonus that we are getting Cassius here for late night - we need to knock it out of the park with him when he is here. STILL NO FAT LADY - - not yet anyways
Sure seems like a stretch for us to pull him off the Coast and UCLA - -they have a lot going in their favor - -lots of friends on the UCLA roster , local , Mom went to UCLA & with his dad wanting him to go to USC - -but that doesn’t look feasible now - -so dad probably now pulling for him to go to UCLA - -we all know how important it is to keep mom happy - -logically looks like they got to much in their favor - -but yet - -NO FAT LADY and she can’t sing with a hoot so don’t show up lol - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Even if we miss, I’m not worried. Bill will land a top wing somehow. A guaranteed starting spot at a place that puts Wings in the NBA every single year is too tempting for someone.

Boy, I’d think Oregon would be the favorite at this point. But that is just based on competition for PT. I just hope that this ends soon and doesn’t get stretched into January trying to build up hype.

UCLA has had a lot of talent and lots of players in the NBA recently but not much to show for as a program.

@FarmerJayhawk I agree that they are probably the emotional “favorite”, but once they sit down and do the pros and cons, I think the choice ends up being Oregon and a guaranteed 30+ MPG.
I think this stretches to at least December though. I don’t think the choice has even been made at this point. UCLA has borderline NBA talent on their roster that is in the way. If Wilkes doesn’t look like he is gone, I’m not sure that there is room for him. That roster has like 6 legit Wing players on it next season no matter what.
Bernard, Wilkes, Singleton, Smith, and Ali are all there right now. Adding Stanley would be 6. They have another top 100 wing coming in already. If neither Bernard or Wilkes is leaving, there isn’t even a starting spot guarantee there imo. And maybe not even still if Ali is back for his senior season.
To me, just seems like a strange place to go.
KU is kind of in a similar boat, but there is easily 25 minutes to be had if Grimes shows out early that he is a OAD.
Oregon has nothing on that roster and he has a clear path to 30+ MPG.
But we’ll see how it goes.
