geez, lots of hysteria here. lighten up, francis. we just played the toughest stretch of any team in college basketball. we were hit with a fake news explosion. worst case scenario, we end up tied for 1st in the b12.

@KUSTEVE no biggie? We lost on our home court to a team that has lost nine games! We were up big and let ISU do whatever they wanted. Embarrassing effort from everyone

@HawkChamp hey I’ll still take our guys over anyone if I had to bet money in March. 20 wins 3 losses is pretty good. It was uninspired by coach and by players too. I’m sure they’ll say the same.

Looked like alot of bickering amongst each other in the second half. Not sure if all the press is getting to then. Lucas a ton of rebounds but it doesn’t help if you just hand them right back. Several of those. Missed FTS at inopportune times. Very lazy defense second half

@HawkChamp did you think we were going to be undefeated? we gave away a game. the 2008 national championship team lost 3 games in a week and half. i think they survived.

Today, we saw the impact of a short bench. Tired legs happened in the second half because Self is a guy who doesn’t sub down the stretch in close games. Bring in Vick’s fresh legs for a bit and KU probably wins.

21 turnovers was the difference. I knew their sloppiness would catch up to them and it did in embarrassing fashion. I hope they use this to be SMARTER in the future. That was just awful, awful, awful basketball

Our defensive efficiency ratings are going to slide quite a bit off this one…This continues to project as the worst team defensively during the Self era. Being one of the best offensive teams makes up for a lot, but teams with our DER simply don’t end up as NCAA champions…

@DCHawker I’m behind this team and I think they can be good. But there has literally not been one total game that made me ever believe they cut down nets. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong. But I think if they make the second weekend it’ll be gravy

Pissed off because we blew a 15 point lead, missed fts and silly silly turnovers. But it’s one game boys Baylor is getting spanked by KSU. We will still be up but makes Monday a must win.

Well they were 9 of 27 last time from 3, this time 18 of 34. It wasn’t the interior d that sucked. That’s good.

Imo this team has FF ability (if match-ups break right) but I could also see them losing in their 2nd game to Middle Illinois Valley State.

Oh and on my last post someone might think oh that could happen any team…well yeah it could but I thought for instance the 2010 team was a big time favourite for the NC… So I’m just comparing how I feel about this team to past teams.

@BShark yeah this team reminds me of 2010 and 2011. Both of those teams were as lazy as I can remember any team being and both lost to vastly inferior teams

@HawkChamp come on Hawkchamp, do you really expect a top 3 team to be able to play smart and aggressive for a whole 40 minutes? then i suppose you think the coaching staff should make changes or adapt to anything that the other team is doing. then you expect us to win at HOME against a sub-par team. you really think we can play like this and not go far in march.

I think they’re pretty damn tough. But I also think something is going on right now. Or perhaps just this week. Idk if it’s all the press or what. I just haven’t seen the bickering amongst the backcourt like I did today. It’s a lil bothersome

@BeddieKU23 There’s a difference between saying Jackson shares some of the blame, and he’s the only reason like you’re saying. Jackson absolutely deserves his share, but so does Graham who no showed on offense today, Svi whose defense prowess was exploited most of the second half, and Self for falling into old, bad habits of not subbing when his players were clearly running on fumes late d never brought in Vick, Lightfoot, or Coleby for a couple of minutes to let guys catch their breath.
There’s plenty of blame to go around for this one and to pin it all on one guy is neglecting everyone who no showed the second half and OT.

And to me it’s simply tempered and realistic based on what my eyes have seen. If I could see thru your eyes. That would be something wouldn’t it
