By the way guys, when you get a chance check out the Bill James essay, “A History Of Being A Kansas City Baseball Fan.” Great summation of the 1985 ALCS and WS. It was originally in his 1986 Baseball Abstract. It’s since been reprinted in a collection called “This Time Let’s Not Eat The Bones.” Great stuff.

As you all know, I am not a big baseball fan but you gotta love the Royals. What a bunch of high character players that don’t know the meaning of the word quit and thus you CAN NEVER count them out. I am actually looking forward to the World Series…who knew…

So can we say that a good pitching team trumps a home run hitting team considering the Jays hit almost twice as many hr’s during regular season than the Royals? And the Royals hit more in this series than the Jays.

KC was crazy last night. My daughter was at Johnny’s and she said they doused everybody with champagne and then they had free champagne for everybody. People were there at 3:00 PM to get tables…
