Hey now, we are nothing like KState. They only had a 2 week stretch of good play where we are a coinflip every night.

Just saw that the Haskell womens coach got terminated because of DOGE actions. Maybe question this expense at the end of the season? But in season? Heartless.
Why was he a probationary employee since 2021? Something else is amiss too.
He did say he would finish the season out - unpaid
-
All I saw was let go mid season, nothing about probationary. Tweets rarely go into relevant facts!
-
@wissox I want to know why the hiring process is so messed up he was a probationary employee for 4! years. Not that anyone saw this coming, but it was avoidable and seems weird.
-
Lots of talk about St. Johns and now one East Coast SPN article saying could St. Johns be the 5th Big East champion of the century? I looked at their schedule. Underwhelming! 1-1 against top 25. They beat Creighton, thatās it, and Creighton is no longer ranked. Doesnāt sound like a champion to me.
-
Who else remembers the FT distraction at OU that was a 6ft gorilla behind the backboard and the head spun in a circle? I kind of miss those fan hijinks, but they made me mad during the game. What about the AZ or AZ St person behind the shower curtain. That was a good one. But I sure donāt miss the insensitive antics that we saw in Manhattan and Columbia.
-
Izzo pulled an alltimer today. UW was off to a great start and Tonje had an And 1 called. Izzo started complaining and the refs took the 2 points off the board saying it was before the shot. Huge momentum swing as we didnāt score and what would have been 16-4 remained at 13-4, they hit a 3 and suddenly we had ourselves a ballgame. Many big Izzo moments today. I like him as a coach still but refs really look over their shoulders at him if they know heās staring at them.
-
Some one take a look at St. Johns season and tell me whatās wrong with saying itās not all that impressive.
-
Because itās my lunch break, got to watch whatās on, and I just saw one of Coach Calās brilliant players block a shot that came off the backboard awkwardly, a foot to the right of the goal, and bouncing away from the goal go up and swat it back at the backboard for the easiest goaltending call of all time.
-
The floor in KC is making my eyes bleed. NCAA has one of the best sports leagues out there and they go stupid with ridiculous paint jobs. I hope KU loses tonight so I donāt have to watch another game of this tournament on that ugliness. Well not really.
-
From the NYTimes. This makes the floor even worse:
āAs part of commissioner Brett Yormarkās mission to āintersect sports and culture,ā the Big 12 teamed with clothing brand Undefeated, which has five tally marks as its logo, to design the floor for its menās and womenās tournaments at T-Mobile Center. Sticking with that theme, the Big 12, which uses Roman numerals for its logo, plastered XII(s) all over the floor in a style resembling a Magic Eye illusion.ā Yormark losing points by the dozens in the court of public opinion with the way heās ruining our conference.
-
Iowa St COULD be in real trouble today with BYU. Lipsey is hurting with a Groin issue , shoulder issue , thumb issue - -& Gilbert still dealing with a groin issue, not saying whether they playing-- playing limited or what- - Gibert sounds less likely again not playing or playing much
-
BYU looking good early. Iowa State defense causing disruptions but BYU lights out from three and it feels sustainable at this point
-
Oops, Cooper Flagg rolled ankle. Time to eliminate conference tournaments.
-
WOW , fools Gold ?ā -Fools Gold ? ? - -Iowa State-- -TEN made three point made- - -BYU-- TEN Three point made-- mercy these two teams look really good . Iowa St- -up-- 53-49 at the HALF- -really fun to watch - Curtis Jones Iowa St in the first half with Twenty Two points
-
BYU takes ISU down
-
Defense in KC? never heard of her
-
Not surprised. BYU is perhaps the hottest team in America having won 9 straight and 13 of their last 15 dating back to February 8th. Very dangerous team heading into March if they continue to run the table.
-
Dukeās savior left their game today with an ankle injury and did not return (Flagg).
-
@BeddieKU23 Your right very dangerous. You just canāt key your defense on one -if you had to I would have to say it would have to be Saunders , but you just canāt. They play that five out . really spread the floor and not afraid to pull a quick three from anywhere, Made-Eighteen threes. No way would I want to see them in the NCAAās
-
18 threes and no one made more than 3! Thatās so hard to guard. Theyāve been super hot lately. The blowout over us is just the tip of the iceberg for big wins theyāve had.
-
Colorado staying right with Houston down 5 at the half
-
North Carolina won a battle with Wake Forest to basically knock Wake out of the tournament.
-
Elijah Hawkins āI always tell myself, Iāve been here before. Iām a dawg.ā
-
I half dread and half gravitate toward every opportunity to listen to Jon Scheyer talk. It never fails to amaze me how dull, labored, and vanilla every word out of his mouth is.
It is painful and hilarious that we all pretend he is conveying any useful information.
Adults in peanuts cartoons say more.
Cats in youtube videos are more expressive. Much more.
Is it farce? Is it art? In the words of Bill āwtf are [we] watching?ā
-
I hate Dukeā¦ but Iām bummed out on their loss of Brown and Flagg. Hate to see guys go down anytime but especially in March. Canāt wait for Flagg to go pro so I can become a big fan!
-
@drgnslayr You had me until the last sentence. Once a dukey always a douchey.
-
I liked Luol Deng. Thats about it.
-
@approxinfinity Thatās much shorter than the list of players I didnāt like! Tripper Allen, everyone hates laetner, Carlos boozer, Jay Williamsā¦the list goes on and on.
-
Only Duke player I ever thought was halfway OK was Grant Hill.
-
I was warming up on Jayson Williams coming to the Bulls until he violated his contracted and ended his career in the motorcycle accident and harmed the Bulls chances, but it led to them getting Captain Kirk, so I was happy to see him in Chicago.
-
This afternoon Wisconsin blitzed UCLA with 19 3 pointers tying the BIG tournament record. They have the BIG reg season record from earlier this season when they made 21 against Iowa. So UW, the offensive juggarnaut now owns both major 3 point records in the Big 10. Greg Gard has completely changed the way he coaches and itās really pretty fun to watch.
-
@wissox it would be nice if Self would do the same, I think he did in 2017 and 2018. I just wish we would make an attempt to guard the line.
-
I feel like if we didnāt run out of gas against Zona we wouldāve spanked tech tonight with how short handed they were.

Correlation or causation that UW is much better this year minus its leading scorer from a year ago???
-
@kjayhawks Zona attempts to guard the 3. We still lose because of that philosophical difference
-
Wisconsin vs Mich St going to the wire. Reminder of what high level basketball between 2 teams with complete players looks like.
-
We just donāt have it this year. One AA who can score and board. We have a scorer who can hit from three. We have a forward who can defend. We have a point guard who can defend. We have a three player rotation who might somewhat score. Our 4 and 5 replacements are one and the same. They donāt really complement each other. Our favorite play is a soft lob to our center who has three defenders on him and because itās not a secret. Everyone makes their share of turnovers especially when we get up by 7 points. Our best defense is when our opponents miss as many bunnies as we do. The referees are Iāll say iffy. We have a HOF coach who I guess they listen to. I think they are spooked by the possibility of the court getting rushed again. Since the new year I think we are the .500 team our results confirm. I donāt like it. I donāt like myself not liking it. So starting now I am embracing it with like in my heart. I like our chances in the next tourney of surviving. And advancing is optional. Iāll like it either way.
-
Dam I am sooo tired of Frannie, hopefully we can get a different color commentator next yr
-
@DCHawker Last year the bench at UW was pretty short so they had to lean on AJ. They really have some nice depth now. Iām really lucky to be a fan of them to take the sting off of another down KU season.
@kjayhawks UWās calling card defense is no longer there with this newfound lets outscore them philosophy.
@approxinfinity It was an exhilerating game. High level play. Yes, hopefully KU gets back to that. It wasnāt that long ago that it felt like they were at that level beating MSU and Duke.
-
Iām a fan of Jayson Tatum. Iāll have the hardest time liking Zion because of the KU bull shiz around him. Is he even playing, or still hurt?
-
He may be a blithering idiot, but at least Jon Scheyer got this concept right that Bill Self got wrong:
Sheyer knew in order to make a deeper run this season, he would have to find the right players ā not necessarily the most talented ones ā to complement his superstar freshman.
āI feel my biggest job is roster construction,ā Scheyer said after Dukeās win over Wake Forest earlier this month. "I think thatās always been the most important thing as a head coach in college basketball, but especially now.ā
Btw the misspelled āSheyerā was espn. Not me.
-
In Coach Selfās defense, he might know thatās his most important job as head coach and it just didnāt work out.
I say that because: 1) before the team had entered post-season play last year, he was talking about his thoughts on what he wanted for the team (more athletic, shooters, etc.), and 2) Scheyer may look uniquely good because Cooper Flagg is the kind of player that can mask weaknesses in your team roster.
-
Apropos of the discussions regarding roster construction, congrats to Eijiofor, Philon, Grant-Foster and Pettiford, who have helped lead their squads to the Big Danceā¦
-
Who does Pettiford play for?
-
@wissox High Point
-
Yesufu missed it by that much
-
DeVries out at West Virginia hoops after only one year, headed to Indiana
-
Anyone remember this name? Ali Farokmanesh hired as coach of Colorado St.

Never had anything against CSU before, now hope they go 0-30 every year.
