USF coach Rahim died today
-
Shocker. Young guy. Any team that does what his did to ours last season has some skill. Really sad.
-
I made a mistake, thought it said UCF, a team in our conference. Still sad, but not relevant.

In an interview in 2023, Abdur-Rahim reflected on his upbringing and said the one word that came to his mind was “grateful.” He also spoke about his late father.
“I just want him to know that he raised a man,” an emotional Abdur-Rahim told Wire. “And when I say he raised a man, you know, someone that has character. Someone that has integrity. Somebody that cares about his community.”

That’s so sad, his brother was grossly underrated as an nba player and he had made a name for himself as a coach. They haven’t released what procedure he had done or what happened yet. I had a doctor tell me once that any time you go under there is a chance you don’t come back regardless of how minor the procedure is. Gonna be tough for not only his family but his players.
-
I believe he was the coach of the yr for their conference.
-
@kjayhawks I was trying to remember the connection. His name seemed familiar with NBA teams to me.
I also had the same thoughts about ‘minor procedure’. I recently had surgery on my thyroid which turned out to be cancerous. A 2nd ‘minor procedure’ is now scheduled. It will be my 3rd surgery 18 months. Not worried about cancer but more the rare problems that sometimes take people from us like what happened to Rahim.
