That targeting was a bad call. Booker executed a perfect form tackle. Booker had his head turned and hit with his shoulder and side of his head. That hit is literally how we teach kids to tackle in middle school.

Left side of Booker’s helmet is what made contact woth Altmeyer’s ribs, not the crown.

You can’t see the left Jayhawk logo when Booker hit because that’s what hit the QB. If he led with the crown, you’d be able to see both logos from the backside view. That was a clean hit.

I’m also going to trust the judgment of Andre Ware because he was a QB and I hear him weekly calling Texans games on the radio and is a very pro QB announcer since he was a Heisman winning QB.

The call does matter because KU lost their best pass rusher when Illinois is going to be doing a lot of passing the rest of the game.

The receiver didn’t duck or lower his head, this was a legit call unlike the Booker call.

Fell on the goal line. Only the tip of the ball only has to reach to very front of the goal to break the plane.

You see how much I’m defending the Booker play so I’m not blindly siding with the refs, but that Bryant call was a good call amd the right call. His head dropped because he sunk his hips to try a juke.

His entire body dropped, not just the head. Lowering your head in this context of targeting means that a player only lowers his head, not his entire body.

I’m not saying I know than the refs, but I am saying that they do screw calls regularly even with replay, like they just did with the Hishaw first down.

Seems like everything in the 2nd half has gone against KU.
The only reason Illinois is in the game is due to the targeting calls.
