@jayballer67 Hunter’s going to decide before Nelson even has any visits scheduled. I bet he goes all the way to the wire on the draft process, so Nelson would be more a June add.

@TYOHawk Well this post had us adding Nelson AND Dickinson. I do not think adding Dickinson alone to the current roster is getting them a FF.
But if you add Nelson to that mix you get that Timme/Holmgren type of combo that Zags had a couple of seasons ago. I think that team could make a run.

I’ve learned lol. And at least Joe played decent ball for a tournament team before we took him… Not to mention he literally had the best 3pt% catch and shoot in the nation. I don’t think many predicted he’d be a total complete bust right when we got him.
Primo off the bench is fine I suppose. But it is such a disappointing turn of events to go from Murrell/Ingram/Jones to Primo/Timberlake/Tyson or Mgbako.
The portal class has really gone from “wow holy shit we’re gonna be so good” to “we’ll be lucky to have single digit losses.”
Yeah, we had some rough tamper whiffs, then Bill slowplayed Ingram for Tyson so he better hit there.
Whiff on Dickinson and whiff on Tyson and we are in huge trouble. Both seem possible.
Cal or us for Tyson. If we can’t beat out Cal I can’t even.
Hey, don’t discount the lure of the beautiful Bay Area! (he says as he’s married to a Cal grad)

Basketball at Cal was once proud, now both hoops and football are a mockery. They just don’t dedicate any resources.
But, new coach, new excitement. I’d like for Kansas to come back out and play another game! Many moons ago I recall seeing Keegan lumbering into the arena just as i was. ha.

Well I saw a tweet of TOS where Adam Zagoria/Zagsblog --says that Mackenzie Mgbako will visit 4 Schools -:- - - St Johns ( This Weekend ) - -Indiana , Louisville- - - & KU, - -so that might be a good thing huh ?

Timberlake, Tyson and Hunter would be Self just setting KU apart. Need a fourth small guard maybe primo tomorrow maybe someone who pulls out of the draft.
If we get those guys we got a shot against uconn and Duke. Duke gonna be nasty with all their returners next year.

So for my own personal sanity , Sooo we pretty much in not so round about way told Spears and Morris it would be better if they found somewhere else- -without coming right out and saying we don’t want you here not that I disagree about taking them - it’s just that if we really not that interested then why have them visit ?
I mean if they contact and inquire and we are not that interested why not just come out and say ehh no sorry probably not worth your or our time to make a visit. - -don’t dangle them – just come out and say - -Thanks but no Thanks we are exploring other options - Save everybody’s time.

They get a wing and they’ll win the conference. Even with Udeh/KJ/Zuby playing the 5. Udeh showed elite flashes of being a rim running lob threat and defender.

So with Morris comittment, kind of Screws us of any chance with Tyson doesn’t it ? - – unless Cj or Cuffe move on - -this only leaves us presently with ONE Scholi and un questionably that would be for Hunter-pretty well settles it for Tyson to Cal looks like unless we can free up anothr spot.
Thing I really don’t understand is thought Morris wanted to play more on ball PG - and going into the off Season/portal we really didn’t need another PG , doesn’t El Marko play some point ? - if he does then you have Juan and El Marko ,Now Morris ? -not enough balls for PG if tht’s the case

@TYOHawk we will be super young in several key spots. Udeh has potential for sure but unless he turns in to TRob over the summer you’re gonna be disappointed in him quick. In the new land scape of college athletics I don’t think you can develop talent because it won’t stick around long enough. If this team would stay completely together for 2 years they could cut down the nets. But I’d bet good money they don’t.

@BShark Tang seems to be a better judge of talent than Self at this point unfortunately. We had team full of whiffs last year.

I’d be shocked. they get about 100 people per game (in my neck of the woods).
