@rcjhdraft Well, McDowell is the better basketball player so probably. I don’t have anything concrete on processing CJ but just don’t rule it out.

There is other stuff I heard that I shouldn’t repeat on this board. It would be pretty surprising if he ends up being a good D1 player but you never know.

So, let’s say we DO MISS on Hunter, I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world , I mean sure it would be a kick in the nads but maybe just have to ride the 5 spot by committee of Udeh - -KJ – & Zuby… - -We might be ok. Still hopefully land if we need to l WE got Timberlake – then add Ingram & Morris -I guess we go ahead take Morris & prey to GOD he has his head on straight and not become a cancer i the locker room with distractions- - yet with those three would be a solid incoming. What you think ?

@jayballer67 We would be more than fine with Udeh/KJ and Zuby at the 5 rotation imo. The key is getting Ingram at the 4 to me. He makes it all work because if not then you’re really putting a lot on Marcus Adams plate.

Had to laugh just a little. - -Kentucky fans off their boards - just happy as punch that Hunter visiting this weekend, but worried to death also. -
They are saying well - -what if Oscar decides he wanted to come back says not going pro - - -which right now they aren’t sure he hasn’t decided, he has a couple of workouts going on and i guess to Calpari go ahead and build your roster don’t worry about me as I’ve got things going on and can’t make a decision right now. So they say what if he ends up NOT going pro but yet his spot is filled by Hunter
How it would be such a bad look for Kentucky if Oscar didn’t go pro - - -came back and went to another College program , they are in a panic on how that would make Kentucky look. - - Hell le him come back to College -I would be more than happy for him to come here if that were to ever happen for a year - -it won’t but IF it did he is a walking double double -I’d take him lol

Missing out on 20/10 though would suck.
I think Elmarko starts but also Marcus Adam’s surprises some people. Kid is 6-8 and can shoot it. Bill will find him some minutes.

Johnson is the one member of the class I don’t mind cutting loose if we need the spot. He’s really just pure potential at this point and without a real position. I like McDowell better to be honest.

If Ingram goes to UNC, I hope its because we are back in with Tyson. I just like the fit there.

Still feel good about Ingram. UNC is going to make things interesting but at the end of the day why on this big planet of ours would you ever choose Hubert Davis over Bill

Also, in piecing some stuff together today, KU slow played Ingram just a little. Remember Slater’s gif like 6 weeks ago? It was legit and spooked KU a little. UNC jumped in the void and is making a run at it. So if you hear “KU botched this” or something like it, that’s what happened. The Ingram family really favors KU still and the staff has to close the deal, but Case is the man. I think they get it done.

@FarmerJayhawk Can you explain the gif, please, including what caused any hesitancy? I, for one, do not have an encyclopedic memory indexing the library of what must be several thousand posts in a half-dozen (or more) threads we seem to be developing this recruiting season!

@mayjay sure! Thanks for reminding me not everyone is chronically online. Andrew Slater, who’s as plugged into basketball as any human alive today, tweeted that KU would be in on Harrison Ingram. This was weeks before he hit the portal. So KU got spooked it would look like obvious tampering and backed off to make it look like they only recruited him after he entered. Idk if it was ever realistic for him to commit super early, but it did give UNC a window to jump in the race.

Been busy. I’ll just say trust Farmer.
Would maybe get into it with Tyson if they miss on Ingram. There would be a lot to work out though. He does NOT have the dog in him. Do not rule Ingram out though.

@TYOHawk KJ should have been playing the 4 spot last year, and could eventually evolve into a 3 and D role towards the end of his career here. We saw glimpses of his shooting ability last year. He was deadly 8 feet and in and showed range out to 15 feet. He will continue to develop those aspects of his game when other players finally develop enough to man the 5 spot consistently.
