@jayballer67 I honestly thought that was smoke and mirrors. They flat sucked for most of last season until they got scalding hot late. Then lost their best player in Manek and replaced him with a total stiff. The pieces don’t really fit and Hubert isn’t a great X’s and O’s Coach.

Missouri looks like a decent rec league team. Gave up 89 against SEMO (they did win tho). They could not defend members of this board (slight exaggeration).

ya probably so. I thought that ya over rated but THAT BAD lol - -they seems like have struggled in EVERY game this season

Michigan St is seemingly on the downturn. Northwestern beat them by 7 tonight in East Lansing. Pitt destroyed NU last week.

IMO Izzo just doesn’t have the talent level he normally does. Mady Sissoko has improved a bunch at the 5 for them and he’s the only starter they got who’d start at KU currently. Normally you’d be splitting hairs with starting 5’s.
Not sure the NIL frenzy, transfer hoopla is playing to Izzo’s strengths anymore. He was always known for developing his guys but his top 2 players are transfers now who’d really be their 3rd or 4th options on his past good teams

Yep… They finally “cooled off!” lol
But they show what can happen when players buy in… they can milk a hot streak all the way to the FF.
I thought we overachieved when TRob and crew took us to the FF. Our hearts carried us a long ways that year!

Iowa flattens the Clones in a game that was one of the most lopsided of the year. It was 29-8 in the first 10 minutes. Clones look the part of a B12 basement dweller.

Found this today: “Division III Grinnell took 111 shots against Emmaus Bible College on Thursday and every single one of the shots were 3-point attempts. The Pioneers’ 111 attempted 3-pointers set the NCAA single-game record for most 3-point attempts in a game.
What’s more, they connected on 40 of them, shooting a respectably efficient 36% from beyond the arc in a blowout 124-67 win. (The missing four points there for you math wizards came from the free-throw line.) Its 40 made 3-pointers was two shy of Grinnell’s own single-game record set four years ago against Emmaus when it made 42 3-pointers in a win.”

@Gorilla72 @mayjay I played college basketball and it was for Emmaus Bible College! I scored 2 points taking advantage of a defensive breakdown against Clarke University. They’ve actually developed a program that competes in the NCCAA, the extra C being Christian, and they were in the Final Four last year. When I played we were a glorified intramural team without a gym. Rented an elementary school gym for a day or two each week.
It’s a school of only about 200 people and hats off to them for scheduling Grinnell, a school of 1600 students. Grinnell is the Loyola Marymount on steroids school that never met a shot it didn’t like. They’re famous for scoring but not necessarily winning because their act hasn’t netted them too much success nationally I don’t think.
To be honest calling it an NCAA record is a bit disingenuous. They knew they could win by just shooting 3’s. It was against a non-NCAA school, so just like Billy Preston didn’t really play NCAA basketball because it not against a D1 school, I really think Grinnell should be embarrassed for bragging about this ‘accomplishment’.
The next year I entered the portal and went to KU but Larry Brown couldn’t find a spot for me on the team.

BREAKING: Texas Tech’s Fardaws Aimaq is expected to transfer, source told @stadium.
Aimaq transferred this past year from Utah Valley, where he averaged 18.9 ppg 13.6 rpg per game.
Has yet to play this season while recovering from a broken foot. Hard cast was removed Monday.

He only averaged 13.6 boards last year, down from the 15.0 boards the year before, which led the nation. He averaged 18.9 points per game last year on a wide array of post moves and 3 point shooting. He shot .435 from 3. We was the WAC defensive player of the year in 2021 and also 2022.
