d1baseball put out a new playoff projection on May 18th that shows (8) Big 12 teams in the playoffs! The 8th team is OSU as speculated above. It shows KU as a #2 seed and TCU as the only team hosting a regional likely due to their RPI. I think if KU wins the Big 12 tournament they have a shot at being one of the top 16 seeds and hosting a playoff regional, how cool would that be? Something that I asked about a couple of months ago was Jaden Nickens who committed to play both football and basketball for KU. What I’ve read about this is that basketball is now it is in the same format as baseball and other equivalent sports where teams have hard roster limits and can utilize scholarships however they want. If I’ve read and interpreted this correctly, Jaden Nickens can still play basketball for KU next season and he will count against the 15 player limit, but since his scholarship is for football, he won’t count against the scholarship limit this season so KU would still be fulfilling their NCAA punishment obligation in regards to losing scholarships.

Though when has KU eve backed away from a challenging Non Con ? – probably gonna take some licks , but I think I’d rather play that challenging schedule over a schedule full of powder puffs like some do, although some say that drains a team later in the Season all the really hard games early. That’s where you depth needs to come in and get some minutes, give the starting five some breaks ,- That’s why it’s vital we still got plenty of work to do to complete this roster.
