So we play Tennessee next? Confusing. Oh, and AI sucks. I’ve seen like three different, opposing summaries of who is in the championship game. Weird.
-
Fans of other teams and journalists getting mad when everyone knew the rules beforehand is very stupid. Teams were leaving in their starters late BECAUSE margin mattered…
-
-
I don’t care whether we are in the “championship game” or not. I just want us to win.
-
Agreed, and don’t get why fans/journalists are getting mad about the rules now. Maybe casual fans hear that a team was crowned the players era champ and that carries some marketing weight, but that is going to be a small set of people. Difference between the teams that go 3-0 really doesn’t mean anything in the long run. I was also under the impression that the current players are the ones that miss out on the prize money, so not like this goes into NIL budget for you to recruit for next year.
I would understand if the players missing out on money are a little upset about though.

Money!

@kjayhawks Selective memory! We actually played them in Hawaii I think in the Maui two seasons ago. It says Honolulu, but I think that was after the fires. We beat them by nine. The two previous meetings were ugly, but we’re 5-3 in the series this century. That’s a lot of meetings for a team that’s not in our conference but we can expect another tough one today and wouldn’t be surprised to see us lose nor would I be surprised to see us win.
-
Rothstein tweeted out the schedule for today and it showed KU game at 4. Everywhere else is saying 6 including KUathletics. Just highlights the confusion of this weird event.
-
those rothstein times are mountain time zone
-
@rcjhdraft No, then it would say 5 oclock.

Looks like they have beaten us 2 of the last 3 and I think I’m remembering them destroying us in Knoxville a few years ago.

ISU fans are losing their minds on X right now. I personally don’t like the format even a little bit it’s ridiculously confusing. But as you said everyone agreed to it coming in. I be fine with never playing in this again but with the money up for grabs, I’d bet we are there a lot in the coming years.

Houston was ranked 3, they should have won. I like it, this yr! Great money!

From the Players Era website on game time:
Third place: No. 17 Tennessee vs. Kansas, 7 p.m. Eastern time | TNT
-
I might be in the minority here, but I don’t really care whether our players get a little richer or not. Hell, if anything them winning less money may make them hungrier to win in March when you can really make a killing off of NIL.
-
I assume it goes to our program. TV guide says 6
-
Anything new on Jayden Dawson’s wrist injury? I heard he won’t be playing any more in this tourney.
-
@wissox 4 is local time in Vegas.

Vegas is Pacific time zone, not Mountain.
-
Poor Syracuse. The Big XII invited them to Thanksgiving dinner and they got feasted on. If you are on the Kansas roster but not currently in the rotation there is still room for you. Say hay Samis we can use a super athletic 6’8" wing who plays above the rim.
-
@kjayhawks You nailed it
-
When was the last game we were +20 in rebounds. Nice job. We have played seven games and Tiller is already an impact player. Is there anyway he doesn’t remain a starter? We can see how he handles a physical game against a Rick Barnes led team.
-
Two guys that concern me with Tennessee one — Gillispie just really good,
& even bigger then him is worried about their big boy his girth pretty solid afraid he might just play bully ball and either one will give Bryson or Flory fits and get them in foul trouble, can’ match his physicality
-
@Zabudda Yes, Tiller will remain a starter and it will likely be Rosario/McDowell coming off the bench whenever Peterson returns (hopefully against UConn).
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 how do they use the money? It’s not split between players?
-
@SlimShaddy54 Ament is a 6’11" 207 freshman top recruit who had a lousy shooting game against Houston. He can score board and pass. Their roster is loaded with two more 6’11" 245 bruisers who score and board. Barnes said in the off season they would focus on getting an inside game and they did. They got their scoring down low against Houston while avenging last years loss. They have a big guard lock down defender in 6’4" Boswell. They are a much different team than Syracuse and shoot shoot FG’s at 50% and 36% from three. We will learn a lot about Tiller and Flory and must make our shots better than we have been. If we can score over 35 in both halves we can keep it close and 80 would make me hopeful. An early season chance to prove we belong.

Please feature a clip of the dunk by Rosario at the end of the Syracuse game that pushed ISU out of the 3rd place game.
LOL. That was worth $200-300k
