Post game with Bill Self

  • Self was in the studio in between games and spoke about Flory. He said that a lot of coaches have an attitude of “once he tries the portal, hes out” but he believes testing the portal was the right thing for Flory to do and then deciding to come back shows he wants to be here and he has come back focused. He also said that one of the big reasons DP came was that he wanted to play with Flory.

  • I really thought Flory would be here 3 years, after watching these two games in Sin City I’m not sure he isn’t playing in the nba next June. I’m really hoping to see Tiller and Kohl stick around for a few years. Kohl reminds me a lot of CB when he was in younger. White and Council will struggle getting on an NBA roster but White has played so well I bet he gets invited to the summer league.

  • White and Council seem to be playing their asses off for a chance in the league and, if not… just for the moment. I love it. Kohl looks WAY more comfortable than Braun did his first year so far… I think he’s a winner too. Tiller-- man, THAT guy, unbelievable he’s in rhythm already. He’s not a typical raw freshman big guy at all.

I know these guys are young and will make mistakes but the sky is the limit. Best potential dominance if DP comes back since 2020 for sure. (yeah, I know we got it in 2022, but on paper, this team is probably better)

  • White now reminds me of Jalen Wilson. Always hustling to make plays and not afraid to shoot. Council… yes… Tyshawn Taylor. And Kohl… a bit like Christian Braun.

    Crazy the resemblance in styles!

Flory is starting to play like an alien. Out of this world!

Tiller… he’s like Flory only in that they both can show improvements almost game to game!

I like how the media is picking up on this big man tandem force!

These two games makes me think we are in for a very entertaining season with a lot of wins… with or without DP, but I’m certain he’ll be back soon, then we have to learn to gel with him in the lineup. This current team is showing signs of coming together on both sides of the ball!

Tre is one smart player… especially knowing how to score points. Definitely knows how to draw fouls.

Question for all: Who was the last Jayhawk that really knew how to draw fouls?

Two guys that stick in my head; Mason and Graham.
