@dylans Thanks bud , hew well after reading and then watching a little I was worried about him and the Draft but sounds like he is not entering that, sounds like to late for the coming Season anyways now.-- Would be a sweet get
-
Illinois had one of his teammates and he’s headed to the draft so they were thought to have a slam dunk in landing him but seems like they are out after getting Andre Stojakovic.
Sarr played on Barcelona’s top-level team as well so lots of promise for a kid not even 18 yet.
-
Sarr sounds like another great options for a starting level wing piece. Have to think he will be the cheaper than Williams and could get a decision form him sooner, but he does seem like he need a bit more weight to be playing the 4 at 6-7, 180 lbs. Maybe the goal is White at the 4? But still need someone to round out 10-15 min there.
IMO Williams still seems like the better fit on top of being a proven player, but is a risk waiting on him and missing on both.
-
Second coming of Svi, age and all?
-
It sounds like White will play the 4 here as of right now. Sarr looks strictly a wing, Williams is a grown man that I think you can get away with playing some time at the 4. Tiller is the backup there currently if healthy. Definitely need a wing scorer to pair with Dawson. Whether its an expensive option, a less expensive option or something even cheaper is what we are waiting to see what domino falls.
-
@BeddieKU23 So your saying he is entering the draft ? The article I read that Dylans shared with me is the deadline came and left without him entering, and it said it looks like he is playing College ball at least for a year
-
He’s not in the draft as I understand it. His former teammate that went to Illinois this past season, is in the draft.

If you can get Williams it’s a no brainer to take him over Sarr IMO
Word is Illinois went with other options because they felt Sarr wasn’t worth the cost.
-
I won’t complain about either, but Williams is the proven commodity.
-
I’m actually gonna disagree and go with the higher upside swing imo in Sarr. You’ll lose a few more non con games but if Self gets him to lock in we would have two lottery picks on the team.

I’m thinking we could see the news you are wanting fairly soon…

Just dm’d you

You obviously take Sarr if/when he wants to commit. Then keep recruiting Williams through the draft process. I don’t think there’s a realistic chance to get both but you absolutely recruit like there is.

If anyone is crazy enough to try it’s Billy Eugene

Are we going to get Ahamad Bynum? https://amp.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article305156881.html

@BShark Sarr will barely play if he comes here versus Williams starting.
Bill should only have Sarr as a backup if Williams doesn’t remove himself from the draft and come here

I got a pretty good tip from a solid source that Williams is very set on the draft…
-
Sarr is a player with higher long term upside than Williams. The downside to that is that Sarr may not be at KU long enough to reach the draft from KU if this is indeed Self’s final season. Because of that, Williams would be my preferred option for next season. If there was a guarantee of 2-3 more years from Self, then I would take Sarr.

Also, just browsing through several 2026 NBA mock draft projections, I saw 4 different KU players show up, and potentially a 5th depending on what happens with Sarr.
We all know Peterson is OAD and in the mix to be the #1 pick in 2026. I did see Dame Sarr as top 20 pick, and also saw Flory, Tre White, and Bryson Tiller as second round picks in the various mock drafts out there. I did not see Darrion Williams on any 2026 mock draft which means most draft guys think he’ll stay in because I saw quite few names that have declared this year being projected as 2026 picks.

This year, KU has zero players invited to the combine. First time in quite awhile and very fitting…
