As I’ve thought about young guys who could be our next coach I thought about him. NOT anymore! Scheyer is young, maybe we could get him. Wouldn’t that be a coup?!!

@FarmerJayhawk read a good article about him. He tells his guys if they don’t like to be coached tough, this isn’t the place for them! Guessing our transfers won’t be going there.

@BeddieKU23 Depends, how much crap, and when did he give it to you for KUs wretched season? Some people are just friends who root for the wrong team and have a common thing - both our teams lost in humiliating fashion. It can be friendly, but it doesn’t have to be.
I prefer to kill the local KSU fans with kindness most of the year - it takes their legs out from under them…and then rip their shriveled black hearts out when it hurts most. When KU wins big I’m obnoxiously happy and they feed into that with their misery. Rarely is there a need to cut them down, but on occasion it’s nice to remind them of how great their football team is and ask about the last NC game they played in or BCS/ny6 bowl game they won or playoff games they’ve made…

I tend not to pile on others when their teams lose; I know how painful it is and certainly don’t like others giving me shit when KU loses. I just go with the “tough loss” and move on to something else.

UConnjust absolutely destroyed South Carolina by 23 to win their 12th national title and first since 2016. I really wouldn’t have guessed this was their first title in 10 years. Paige Bueckers has been so much fun to watch over her career and will now be going to Dallas in the WNBA draft on the 14th.

Not a UConn fan normally, but that was a UConn team for the ages. Probably jumpstarted another run of championships.
Incredible to win 2 final four games by 25-30 points each.

I watched the game on ESPN and they had Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi doing the commentary. They were good — solid in game analysis (until it was a blow out, with good color commentary and an entertaining back and forth. It was clear they like and respect one another as players.

I’m pulling for Houston as well. I am surprised that Vegas had Florida 1.5 pt favorite. Houston has most of the profile characteristics of a national champ. Experienced team and coach who have experience on a quick 24-36hr turn around; won both their league and league championship; close to home; elite defense (a la ‘defense wins championships’).

The game is being played at Houston’s pace so far, Florida is struggling with the in your face defense. Houston has 10 more shots so far but only a 4 point lead

Houston leads 31-28 at the half, only 4 fouls called in a very physical game which I like. The big call was obvious missed goal tend on Florida that led to a 3 Houston could easily be up 8 right now. Will be interesting usually in most CBB when it’s physical, the refs change the whistle in the second half and call it tight.

@nuleafjhawk they honestly remind me a lot of the 2008 and 2012 Jayhawks. Very athletic and hard nosed defense while playing together very well.

Now the tight whistle has shown up 7 fouls on each team in the first 7 minutes smh.

Florida needed a guest appearance of joakim noah air humping. All class.

Wow, the ‘foul’ on the loose ball leads to the winning FT’s. Florida guy steps out on his own. Ref makes up a push call. Would’ve been nice to see the Big12 get another championship, but Houston seized up at the wrong time and couldn’t make shots to save their championship.

1983 loss has to be the worst for Houston ever, maybe the worst championship loss ever for any team. To now be the butt of jokes on social media for that last possession is going to hurt a lot as well.

4 fouls total called in 1st half, 26 in 2nd half. They can’t review a goaltending call if they don’t call it. If they call it, then they can review it, so why not avoid a million miffed Houston fans by calling it and then reviewing it? That was a 5 point swing.

Modern basketball in a nutshell. Down 2 in the bonus and you get nothing going to the basket. You attempt a half ass elevator screen to free up a 28’ three. Yes I know there were other options before that last one. But this modern chuck every 3 imaginable has just led to kids settling for bad long shots.

Perhaps a bad shot in the bigger picture but was it a bad shot for Sharp? Kid takes a lot of those kinds and hits them too. Play call wasn’t great, but perhaps just better execution by the defense. Sharp doesn’t get the shot off due to a great close out.
