KU’s inability to create floor spacing meant it was harder for guards to get into the paint. Late in the year the lane was clogged to prevent HD from getting clean touches. TBH, I don’t think ref’s called all the fouls they should have during lane penetration but whatever….

@TYOHawk Very true and I agree but most teams in the tournament seem to have that type of a player. I think that’s probably one of the things we missed most since Kevin was out. Here’s the ball, go get a bucket.

I took it for granted with Frank and Dot. But the ability to just tell a guy to get in the paint and get fouled or get a bucket is so pivotal.

@rcjhdraft one thing to consider if I remember correctly Elmarko is hasn’t been playing organized ball for very long. He has the athletic ability to do and has a decent stop and pop game right now.

A big concern with Amos should be his health. Only played 7 games as a freshman and missed the last few games this season with back issues. That’s something that would make me look elsewhere because we don’t need a player with a known injury history depleting the depth for next season.
I’ll also say that I don’t believe that caliber of player we need have begun entering the portal yet.

Fair. Tomorrow is going to be an insane day. Most teams out of the tournament now. Rumblings of lots of P5 starters that will enter.

As someone else said KU has all these top seeds or no worse than a 4 because we dominate the little 12 only to not do crap in the tourney.

We , need some dogs out of the portal this year, I’m not just talking athletic, but some studs , got that dog in them. Enough of the Timberlakes , no Yesfu’s — We need guys that can get their own shots - – create , someone that wants the ball in Crunch time- - That Alpha
We need a stud CG – - and a Strong legit front line player - -we need athletic vey athletic , speed. enough screwing around - -and a couple good quality depth off the Bench players- -time to buckle down
A question also --do you think it’s time to get some fresh blood in the Coaching staff ?- - just curious, maybe get someone that CAN find that dog.

Forgive the potentially ignorant questions. Is it possible for Self to think a player isn’t worth the NIL money anymore? Is it possible to ever pull/reduce any offer for a player for next year?
Just asking so I can potentially hope to never see HDick in a KU uniform every again.

Until recently believe it’s illegal for coaches and the school to be involved in the $ but with the NCAA continuing to be shut down from getting involved in that business it may be something that a coach can have some influence on going forward.

Something I was saying in the Season , and through the Season. — Hunter Dickinson was just a bad fit for us. - Now seeing many others now saying what I’ve been saying.
Hunter Dickinson although a good player was a bad fit- - -and it showed, Hunter is a liability on defense, gets beat repeatedly, suer gets rebounds but a lot of those rebounds practically fell in his lap, NOT a good offensive rebounding guy at all - -Actually we had NOBODY that was good at being aggressive to go to the offensive glass.
Hunter was not a guy that demanded the ball, kinda like THAT’S MINE, a guy that would just go get the ball, a lot of his rebounds would either hit the floor and bounce his way or simply because of his what 7’1 frame.
We need a guy who loves to bound - -like a Dennis Rodman or a Daryl Dawkins somebody that i just gonna take it - -give it to me attitue . Hunter was - just Big & slow real defensive liability on the perimeter . -He is more then likely coming back , just hope his foot speed can improve - - doubtful but maybe
