So recapping the day, we are likely to get a visit from Hunter.
We also will get a visit from Ingram Monday after he does other in-homes. Sounds like we have a great shot there.
Spears is still slated to visit after TCU but with things happening with schools on his list we’ll see.
We’ve contacted Matthew Cleveland (longshot) and Jesse Edwards.

Yeah given who he is it’s not surprising. Definitely not much of a fan of how this is playing out, it’s not like he wasn’t a highly recruited kid first time around so I’m perplexed why years down the road its a bit of the same rollercoaster. Guess some just really like the attention

Boy Howdy , you can sure say that again. --1st thought we had a good chance , then seeing maybe not slim chance , now seeing looks like get a visit - - - as the stomach turns lol. - -still doesn’t mean we get him by any means but - getting him to campus is half the battle Right ? lol- -well that and a nice NIL package - Can we provide a nice NIL package ?

Basically/Actually they came place the blame for a lot of this on how this whole portal has come about. - It’s turned into a circus/sideshow/freak show .It’s a matte in about 95 % of the cases of WHO can offer me the best deal. It’s less and less about the Coach or the School .It’s about NIL. This portal has made things a joke in some aspects. - It’s like to a point that if the kid wakes up some morning with a headache and the Coach looks at him wrong - -it’s like screw this I’M OUT. times I wish we could just go back to the old days of the basic recruiting & you transfer- -you sit a year - -I dunno gives me a fricken headache trying to keep up with all this lol

So I know Hunter is our # 1 guy we want for the 5 I understand , and I want him too BUT IF he doesn’t commit here would our fan base be acceptable / happy if by chance we landed Jessee Edwards from Syracuse ? - I think he could help out nicely.
Hunter big weekend. George Town & Maryland both visiting - -If we get through the weekend and he makes it to KU for his visit without committing to either of those Schools -especially Maryland I’ll feel much better as to where we stand and our chances

Holmes is training with Mccullar right now in New Jersey…sadly probably means he’s weighing the draft heavily lol

Heard today Kev is looking for a number and if KU matches he’ll strongly consider coming back. If all else fails I wouldn’t hate just throwing Marcus Adams into the fire at the 3 and see what he can do. Think you’re a one and done? Go prove it.

@Kcmatt7 off the top of my head Jalen Duren was really good. This is Adams’s actual class so he’s not skipping a grade.
Tre Johnson would be skipping a grade, no bueno.

I think Jesse is a fine option. Definitely worse offensively but he looks like a better defender. Obviously a little hard to judge given he’s played zone his entire career. I also feel Hunter could drag it out and land somewhere local so I agree with you there

Okay so we’re feeling good about adding a starting big man and Ingram.
I’d really like to be able to add two guys… If they can’t figure out the Cuffe situation I could see them cutting someone else loose. You can’t take up that many scholarships at the 5 if you’ve got KJ as insurance, a wasted 12th scholarship and no 13th scholarship. Just guessing, but that is something to watch for if Edwards or Dickinson commit.
I think they’re on the hunt for a bench piece that can score. That is what the Primo/Horne/Timberlake buzz feels like to me. I’m good with any of those guys off the bench. Timberlake I’d probably not complain about starting.
And then just find a way to get Kev back. Its starting to make too much sense after you add a guy who can score in the post.

If they get Dickinson, I think you’ll see Udeh get 10-15mpg. The good thing about adding Dickinson is that it would give Udeh someone to learn from on the block. Zuby emergency only (if he is even still on the roster…)
If they land Edwards, I think Udeh will push him for minutes. Could be a 20-20 split. Same role for Zuby as above.
The way this is shaping up, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Zuby portal. Not that I want him to. Or not that the coaches will want him to. But I would understand him not wanting to be the 3rd or 4th guy at the 5 depending on how the staff handles KJ.

Agree I don’t want to see Zuby portal either , brings lots of energy seems like a great kid too. but yet sure don’t want to see Udeh portal EITHER lol dam. I just kinda think that Hunter goes home and then we probably have a shot for landing Edwards. - If I had my choice ya I would want Hunter 1st - -just don’t think it’s going to end up that way though. -which brings into the play you brought out with Edwards and Udeh and Zuby then sticking it out
