I like this take actually. If he plays like his comments suggest they may have found a very competitive dude with intriguing length. Obviously going to need the strength program here but if he also helps Chris Johnson that’s a plus. I get the feeling this one has a chip on his shoulder to prove himself on the big stage. Went from 2 star Recruit to top 50 this summer so he might be one of those late bloomers that was impacted by the covid years. Stack talent, develop it and see what comes out the other side. This is the kind of Recruit that just helped us win a natty. No worries about leaving early unless he transfers. Hearing the staff pushed for him behind the scenes to land him makes you really think they know what potential he may have… until otherwise I’ll trust the staff here. Obviously not every player is a homerun but I wouldn’t be quick to throw this one with some past takes that didn’t pan out

I like taking as many guards as we are. Skill is the name of the game these days. But I’m not sure what’s happening at the 4 spot. Jalen is all but certain to leave after this year and there’s not an obvious successor. Maybe McCullar uses his Covid year? We go really small and play MJ there? There’s always the portal so that’s most likely IMO. Will be an interesting story to follow over the next 9 months.

@BeddieKU23 Bill has shown that if anything, the biggest key for his teams being successful is simply having guys here 3-4 years. Obviously Och and CB are pro guys now, but they are likely the only two from last years rotation. I think of anyone else Dajuan has the best chance which sounds insane but we will see.
So yeah just keeping guys is huge.

Portal for sure. I don’t think we will be too likely to run into problems filling starting spots. This last offseason we had more guys that wanted to come to KU than we had spots by quite a bit.

Yeah haven’t seen KU linked with him in awhile and clear we went to other targets.

Considering the talent in this class available it’s impressive to see high level guys looking here again. Elmarko and Cooper would be a really insane haul

I was just curious IF we even have the Scholi’s available- -I’m not sure how many we have available. - -I know Jalen wil be one - - the other kid the one that red shirted last year , the one who came to us through the portal from smal college -that’s two. - -No other big wil transfe out , I right off hand can’t think of any others - -full rosstr won’t we be ? - -Max given I figure would be three tops

@jayballer67 The staff recruited in the early period to fill Cam, Kevin and JWill spots. Those three will for sure be gone. Everything else is up in the air and we don’t know yet. Could see a wide range of other spots being available depending how the year goes.

thanks , dum ol me forgot about Mcullars , so ya i WAS thinking three leaving, yet I just don’t know about the rst, the spot I feel most confident about is I JUST DON’T see any of the 3 bigs leaving - - for sure don’t see Zach leaving , pretty sure Udeh isn’t going any where and then I forget the 3rd if any he might JUST NOT seeing that right at this point either though.
Right now they have us ranked 20th best recruiting, wonder how the commit of Jackson would take us ? - -I thought he was ranked a little higher - -247 has him at # 35

Elite athletic guards. CJ being at a prep this year playing for a tough coach should help with his mentals. Talent wise he is a steal that we didn’t have to fight that hard for.

He is lightning quick, and seems to have a very nice shooting touch. That 180 move he put on a defender in his highlight video you posted was sick. My ankles got sore watching it.

Lots of positive press going to Chris Johnson for his play over the last weekend. Certainly looking like he will rise the rankings. He looked a lot like a top 20 prospect then his current rank

Him and Elmarko are just beastly. We’re national championship good for the next several years. Just a powerhouse of talent.
