KU Bracket Reveal Thread

Some thoughts looking at this bracket via Kenpom Rating, Offense/Defense.
Gonzaga got the “toughest” 16 seed (Georgia St #152). KU plays the best defense of the 16 seeds (Texas Southern #101) however Texas South is also the worst offense (#269) in the Tournament. KU has the worst defense per Kenpom of the 1 seeds (28).
Duke by far has the worst defense of the #2 seeds (44) however its Kentucky that has the toughest 15 seed matchup as Saint Peters (#118) has the #34 ranked defense (only 9 spots off UK’s #25 rated D). Their offense (#260) is 2nd worst behind only Texas Southern. No other 15 seed has a metric within the Top 100.
1st round matchups that are a potential race to 50
Seton Hall/TCU (#27/#24) rated Defenses. San Diego St/Creighton (#2/#17). Saint Mary’s/Indiana (#9/#18). LSU/Iowa St (#4/#10)
Potential toss up games
Colorado St/Michigan- #34/#32 overall, offense/defense within 1 & 4 spots. Seton Hall/TCU- #41/#38. Boise St/Memphis- #29/#28. Michigan St/Davidson- #39/#40. Murray St/San Francisco- #21/#27. Texas/Va Tech- #16/#22. Ohio St/Loyola- #31/#24
Notable teams Kenpom says are under-seeded Kentucky (#3)- 2 seed, Iowa (#13)- 5 seed, Texas (#15)- 6 seed, UCLA (#8) -4 seed, Houston (#4)- 5 seed & Virginia Tech (#22)- 11 seed.
Notable teams Kenpom says are over-seeded include Duke (#12)- 2 seed, Providence (#48)- 4 seed, Wisconsin (#33)- 3 seed.

Looking at KU’s path. We are set up well to control our own destiny!!!
1st Round: worst team left in the tournament (Texas Southern #184).
Potential 2nd Round: San Diego St (#2 rated defense) but 5th worst offense (#161). Creighton #126/#17 (Offense/Defense)
Potential S16: Iowa #2 rated offense, South Dakota St #12th rated offense (#223 rated defense). Providence (#48), Richmond (#69).
Potential Elite 8: Auburn #8 rated defense (highest of 2 seeds), Wisconsin (#33), LSU (#19), USC (#42), Miami (#60), Iowa St we know them.
Potential Final 4: The South has 5 of the Top 16 rated teams per Kenpom. This is the region that could really see some chaos.
Potential Finals: Gonzaga, Texas Tech, Duke, Baylor, UCLA, Kentucky would be the most likely matchups…

Self said he wouldn’t have been able to play today so I’m assuming even if he’s available tomorrow, it would be very limited and we’ll probably see Zach and KJ get most of those minutes which shouldn’t be a big issue due to the quality of the opponent.

Baylor’s leading scorer LJ Cryer is still out and will miss at least the first 2 rounds.
Also, Louisville expected to announce Kenny Payne as their next head coach. That’s a big get for Louisville.

Ya seen a clip of KU shoot Around Mitch looked like he was moving pretty good working on his jump hook and shooting from the base line. Think he is going to be ok , STILL if we can get through this game without him the better we are. - -Play KJ & Zach to fill in , gives Mitch another couple of days and gives KJ & Zach critical game time tourney exprience

This is survive and advance time. (no shit Zab)? If we go inside to Dave and he doinks a couple and we start out 1/7 on threes and we throw it to the other team just for fun a few times and Texas Southern doesn’t reject our gifts it may not be a KU blowout where Connor hits another three or three. But as my 75 year old 5’6" former airborne commander neighbor says, when he takes three to get out of a sand trap and helicopters his Hogan Sure-Out in the general direction of Neptune, “I just don’t give a f***.”

Was looking at all the so called experts or what not writers and such on their picks for final 4 and seems the General consensus seems to be Gonzaga ( SURPRISE ) - -Arizona - - Kentucky - - & KU
Also Championship picks are mainly between Gonzaga & Arizona - -Ku had like 4 picks then Kentucky was right there - -saw ONE Texas Teh kinda surprised me

Yet another obstacle to viewing the tourney: Cannot see the local CBS feed because Savannah has a huge St Pat parade for the first hour. Sling Blue does not carry locals.

Check that: apparently the March Madness app has no idea how to know which Sling version you use. Orange gives you local channels, so it is letting me see the CBS game. Must use a national feed.

I left Sling about a month ago, and went to the higher priced Hulu. Now I am constantly having to refresh the live feeds on sporting events, and I’m about to go back to Sling.

Would be a ways off, and doubt they get there, and Providence may win, but I wouldn’t want to play SDS - they pass and shoot well. Really spread the floor. Very undersized, but fun to watch…

Certainly could be a good plan of attack. South Dakota St has the 2nd worst defense per kenpom in the tournament. That’s even adjusting for competition etc. They are boom or bust

I dunno but to me Kendall needs to look to score more. Several times he passes out when he has wide open mid to short range shots. - I just think he needs to be more aggressive offensively instead of yielding

Really not his game. He can hit the set open 3 but he hasn’t really developed this kind of touch from mid-range etc. Perhaps that’s in his future
