there IS mutual respect for every team we play including OSU, but in these last two years there seems to be more hatred than respect. tomorrow, Iba Arena will finally be full and we will get their best shot. Welcome back to Stillwater, Coach. at least they still love you.

OSU players are passive-aggressive towards Kansas players because they come to Lawrence and they witness the love Kansas fans have for their players. They go back home and they experience Ford visiting cafeterias, begging students to attend a game to support their ranked team (when they were ranked).
I feel for OSU players. Definitely for Nash. He is a quality player that deserved better from a program. His frustration with his own world is very visible to all. We just addressed the attendance issues in Oklahoma. This is wide spread across America. There is a saturation of games, TV games and other sports. The key is to build momentum in your program and fight to keep it going. Hey… Kansas has been there before. The “father of basketball” program has suffered long periods of less than capacity crowds. I remember “upgrading” my seats for years in AFH at halftime.
We should all remember that and fight for what we have to keep it at the top!
I pity the poor fool basketball coach hired after Self that fails to keep to our standards. We’ll burn him at the stake! We are going to fight to keep Kansas great and we’ll do whatever we have to do to make sure we keep the momentum rolling!

@wrwlumpy You’re right lump but personally I’d rather see players express aggression more like Lucas did vs ISU with a scowl & elevated play. Sportsmanship is almost completely eliminated from so many aspects of ANY competition, I just have a tuff time putting up with a lot of the extra ingredients that guys are so quick to add to the mix. Nash is a borderline “case” IMO & Smart was a bonafied nut. I believe kids like that are a direct reflection of the time & effort a program dedicates to fully teach them the correct way to carry themselves & represent their school, or the absence of such.
If I ever want to see athletes pose & act like idiots, I can always turn on some old WWF reruns & watch Ventura & Hogan blow spit & snot all over each other. Then again it may be about time for both of them to “come out of retirement” for a re-match anyway. Financially they’re both way behind so wouldn’t be shocked if that drama would unfold for all the “thimble brains” to enjoy.

It’s all Nash and surprising we recruited him to the end, its not like we decided to go in another direction. I don’t get his punk mentality that seemed to spread to Brown & Smart last year. I get it, you want to beat KU, but you go about it in the worst way. And Mari doesn’t take any crap from anyone.
Crowd will be rocking to beat us, hopefully we bring the energy to get a w. The last few trips there haven’t been some of our best.

Other than the largesse and deep pockets of T B Pickens, the most lucrative wintertime boost to Cowboy Hoops is when Bill Self and Co. come back to town. Another rowdy house to taunt and test our young Jayhawks. RAWK CHAWK!

@BeddieKU23 I agree that the crowd will be crazy. I am a bit surprised that most of the people on this board are not more concerned about this game. OSU is playing for their life as far as getting into the NCAA. They have very few big wins to help their resume and a win over KU would be huge. Lunardi currently has them as an 8 seed. If they drop a few more and end up being only .500 in the Big 12 they are really going to need a big win to fall back on.
This will probably be the last game Nash gets to play against KU. Forte will be really up for this game due to his injury issues at AFH. I honestly expect a very very difficult game tomorrow. OSU needs this more than we do.

I am always concerned with this matchup in Stillwater because historically it seems to be a tough place to play for us even if they are having a down year. I have family in Oklahoma who root for the Oklahoma teams to beat us all the time in basketball. The fans may not be passionate like we are about basketball, but when KU comes to town the passion comes out. We cannot take this game lightly because OSU will find a way to bring the energy.

Your right they do need this game more than us, and usually that’s always the case when we come to town.
Last year they fueled their fire for the home win with that first half skirmish. Plus hurting Embiid in the game certainly didn’t help our cause as we saw how differently a team we were without him. 2 years ago Smart flipped in our gym and got a W, then we had to go to Double OT to beat them there if I’m right Tharpe had the game winner.
The reasons I feel confident about a win is that we are simply a better team. They are a 2 man team basically with average role players around them. They do play good defense which is surprising for a Travis Ford team. We’ve had a few days to refuel the jets after that brutal 6 days stretch. If we are the best team in the Big 12 we will win.
Do I think we can lose, certainly because we’ve played pretty poor for the most part on the road besides the Texas gem. Oklahoma St. likes to remind us that Self once was there 30 years ago like that means something and the crowd seems to come alive when we visit. I’m certain that Forte & Nash can’t beat us by themselves. They will need an above average performance from one of their role players to beat us. That’s how they beat Texas, Hickey had one of his better games. They missed so many open shots the first game that I said those are shots they could make at home. Self wasn’t happy with our effort that game at all. A similar effort is enough to erase a 10 pt window at Gallagher-Iba.

@joeloveshawks I’m plenty worried about this game. They have played us very tough in their place. The place will be loud. We always get everyone’s best shot, at least emotionally. We’ve got to keep that darn Forte from killing us. If we keep he and Nash to just decent games, we should win.

@wrwlumpy Okie St. Am I concerned that this might be a trap game in the eyes and minds of our overachieving Jayhawks? Yeah, sure I am. The last 5,6 years Okie state has really given KU a test. It seems like we have split games with them during the season more often than not. If our young guys dont come to play it rough, theyre gonna lose. Theyre gonna get beat. Its as simple as that. I hope KU comes out for blood and comes away with the W but I wont be surprised or too disappointed to see Okie state steal one from us. It is very true that they need this one more than we do. Lets just hope that doesn’t register in our guys heads.

I checked out their site… they got some skillz. I used to do some Photoshop editing back in the day, tho I usually hired pros when I was art directing. Your kids could make a decent living doing work of that quality. Some of the better ones show really nice technique, color, composition and drama. Some tend to think it’s all just filters, but you also have to choose the right pic, crop, compose, work with text, etc.
Anyways, good stuff, thanks for sharing and tell them to keep at it.

@Jyhwk_InTigrtwn thanks for the compliments. I’ll pass it on to them. They use several different apps on the same picture to get the effects. It goes over my head. They started last year and have come a long way.
