This is the kind of big we’ve been missing. Strong, good rebounder. We needed someone to bang and rebound to go along with Zach. Will probably take a bit for him to develop offensively, would be nice to have Danny for that lol.

Jalen Washington to UNC. Right on the heels (I’ll let myself out) of Dawson Garcia transferring yesterday. Not going to lie, I’m kind of jealous of their frontcourt.

So stoked. You can see already Hubert has a much different approach to bigs than Roy. Pace, space, and let it fly is the early word.

@FarmerJayhawk I like Roy. He won what two championships at UNC? And while not winning one for us he did get us to four Final Fours and recruited his ass off while here. People forget, we were on probabtion when he took over. And from year one on, he coached his ass off. I’ll never forget the class that he showed when we smacked his team in the Final Four, yet he wore Jayhawk gear in the stands as we were winning the National Championship against Calipari and Memphis.

They have been in it from the start of him re-opening. Might be prioritizing him more than KU… But I’m not worried about Illinois in general.

Definitely a KU/Illinois battle based on the article Bossi ran. NC St seems like they are 3rd. UConn rounds out the 4 he’s really into. Says relationships will matter the most. Illinois has already landed two guards in 22. Maybe he’ll see more PT opportunity with KU with the Martin/Agbaji/Coleman-Lands moving on after the season

Interesting little Article the KC Star ran with Gary Bedore. They was talking with Coach Self - - he mentioned our two commits so far and said we were in what he felt good position on a couple of others, and hoping to sign a couple more in the next Month or so.
He said KU he was hoping for or would have 5 available for 2022 Season. with the Graduation of McCormack ,Agbaji , Cam Martin , Remy Martin , & Lands so 5 or possibly more if any possible transfers.
Then he was talking about the filling of the Asst Coach and thought he would name the Coach by the end of the Month. - - Said Jeremy Case had been doing an outstanding job - - job probably no surprise - Jeremy will be moved to full time asistant.

Kinda got the feel they were after bigger fish at the guard spot. Especially it’s not a massive need. Still bring back Harris, Yesufu, Cuffe, and Pettiford. Self has been a barnacle on Keyonte George lately

Gee, wonder if Texas has become a huge honey hole for us? Texas and now Sunrise. Hopefully with the addition of Yesufu we might be able to start snagging some Chicago players as well, ditto by adding Cuffe some in NYC. N. Carolina players have also been showing us some love - Graham, Dotson, Pettiford.

What do you mean start snagging Chicago players? Self has been mining Chicago very successfully for 2 decades now.

There is a reasaon like Farmer said he didn’t land here. Coach eyeballing BIGGER FISH. - the Article I read said Coach was hoping to land a couple of more in the next month or two - we will see

The KU-Texas rivalry is going to return to where it was about 15 years ago when both programs were consistently the two best teams in the B12 and KU couldn’t win in Austin. Even the title team lost in Austin that year as one of their 3 losses.

Still got to get that talent to play together. - -Just Like Kentucky who always has a butt load of talented players. - only thing is ONE big difference. I think Beard can /will get them to. Going to be some classic battles this year with KU & Texas . - -Both teams should be ranked top 5 in the beginning of the Season

Similar to Cuffe, he didn’t have a season last year but apparently is playing really well in travel ball this summer. Late bloomer type
