I think the biggest thing a president can do is set an appropriate tone by speaking clearly and speaking the truth.
That starts with putting the interests of others ahead of his own. It means listening to experts and not dismissing and contradicting them. And it means avoiding over-statements, exaggerations and hyperbole.
I think this president has pattern of behavior that proves he is incapable of meeting ANY of these requirements.
In ANY business in the world other than a family-run business, this kind of incompetence would get you fired.

Yea I’m pretty sure that Trump listens to experts, but at the end of the day it’s his ass on the line. Just like any president. Problem with today’s political environment? Is if it isn’t one of your own, then you have to get rid of them. No matter how good they have done.
Trump could cure cancer and some would still complain. Let that sink in. Trump isn’t the problem.

Haven’t you heard? He has a “natural ability.” Like medical knowledge is apparently a genetic trait! He shared this epiphany at the CDC last week.

Oh, I’m sure he thinks he could cure cancer. That’s his problem. Those who believe him… that’s their problem.
I see no evidence that he listens to experts unless it serves his self-interests.

Yes they’re on the same page which is why the White House had to say most everything Trump said in his Oval Office address wasn’t correct, then they hype up a website that doesn’t exist in the Rose Garden. I would hope they could at least get the basics right instead of people panicking overseas because they think they can’t get home or going to find a website that doesn’t exist.

I’m saying give Biden a chance and assume that he isn’t senile and didn’t somehow magically get within a stones throw of the highest office in the land despite being senile. He’s not senile. That just isn’t what is happening here. If that is what you’re seeing then I’m asking to please consider watching the last democratic debate. He murdered Bernie. See it with your own eyes, then judge.
Look, I was in the same camp as you. Biden seemed to be losing it. But I watched that debate and he was sharp as a tack, and he even said that he’s a very good delegator. I don’t think Fauci would be facepalming behind a President Biden or saying “what do you want me to do? I can’t throw him off the podium” about hte president (i paraphrase). Biden would not get in the way during this crisis because he would have the right people making decisions.
