Fox isn’t going to develop in SAC. I think they missed with that one. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing somewhere else that could coach him

Nobody develops in SAC. That franchise is flawed right now. Not sure what they are doing out there.

They decided to keep Vince Carter to mentor the young guys and he got 32 minutes last night or something like that. So they dumped Hill and amped up Carter… Also Z-Bo got 40 minutes. Garrett Temple for 32. I hope they know the difference between mentoring and “playing insteead of”. Skal is out, and they traded the 10th pick (which was Zach Collins, but could have been John Collins, Bam Adebayo or Donovan Mitchell at that point) to Portland for Justin Jackson and Harry Giles, who isn’t on the current roster. Shortage in the post but didnt draft a big man.

@approxinfinity Fox was out and Frank was on a minutes restriction so they had little choice but to play Vince. I do agree with you otherwise.

Frank playing again and had a strong performance last night with 16 points and 6 assists. The one little highlight clip they showed on ESPN’s box score had the announcer saying “Frank doesn’t play like a rookie”. Of course experience wise he is technically a rookie, but someone 5 years removed from HS makes him more of a seasoned veteran!

Frank Mason 13 points, 8 assists, 5 steals in 28 minutes. He outplayed Fox and Ferrell tonight and he’s looked good all preseason. Let’s go Frank!

Yeah I get wanting to make it in the NBA but he could be a stud overseas. I think defense is the biggest issue. His minutes went down by a lot year two.

Someone that needs a low cost 3rd point could do much worse. Frank’s not a head case and would bring a great work ethic and toughness.

Lakers should sign him, LeBron should know better that he needs a Jayhawk to win the championship.

@AsadZ I agree, the Lakers need a back up PG. If not he can make a good living overseas if he chooses but it could be tough with his son.

Lakers signed Quin Cook. If Frank plays in the NBA this season, it’s likely a two way contract and he spends most of the year in the G-League.

Every time I see these past Jayhawks flame out in the NBA it reiterates my feeling the Bill Self maximizes guys talent better than any coach in college aside from maybe Izzo. It reminds me of Bobby Knight. Outside of Isaiah Thomas he never had much long term NBA talent either.

I think Frank’s size really hurts him, the NBA game has changed to wanting 6’4 and taller PGs and big guys with range. If guys like Frank and Trob were 10 or 12 years younger they’d be solid NBA guys IMO.

Just finished Franks basketball camp in Pburg. Good to see Frank. He appears to have grown a couple inches ?? Seriously. He’s huge, but he also seems taller. Anyway, he plays each of the kids one on one at the end and dribbled circles around most of them. I got to shake his hand and we took a picture of the boys with him.
I heard from an older gentleman there that it was AWIII who told the staff to check out Frank. Andrew White the first was a legendary pastor who was largely responsible for setting up a charity that has helped out Petersburg tremendously. The Petersburg HS football field is named Andrew White field in honor of him.

With a two way contract he will spend most time in the G League but here is hoping that he will get an opportunity and while on the roster he will make most out of it.

Crazy that he’ll only make $75K, though incentive potential of around $250K.
Sports is an interesting animal. You can be the best in the nation one year and then barely getting a job the next just due to your size.
Good for Frank though. I know he’ll make the most of it.

So much more size and athleticism in the pros than in college. It’s a huge step up talentwise.
