Deron Williams was Bruce Webbers All star. hahah…didn’t even realize it. Squeaky has the same number of all stars in nba as Bill Self.

I don’t know, I’d still give it to Self. He recruited him. If he had recruited him but never coached him, I’d give it to Squeaky.

@chriz Grimes mentioned after he committed that he talked to Deron Williams. DWill had nothing but positive things to say about Self and how Self let him play but also helped improve his game. But sure, DWill is a Bruce guy according to el poyo. Makes perfect sense when you hate Self and KU I guess.

@BShark @chriz That is Selfs all star IMO, we have all seen Squeaks inability to develop players at every stop. KSU has as much talent as anyone in the league this year and they ain’t doing too bad tied for third right now. But they return everyone next season and honestly should be a favorite in the league but I’d put money that they don’t win. Squeak was lucky once and lightening don’t strike in the same place twice.

@kjayhawks @BShark @chriz Deron had two years with Squeaky, one with Self. Played well as a freshman (6.3 ppg, 4.5 apg), but doubled his pts, and 50% increase in assists, as a soph, and stayed there as a junior. He received his major accolades his junior year when they went to the final.
I would give both coaches half of Williams. Squeaky inherited him, but he used him well.

May I offer that the apparent question posed is, why don’t we have any NBA all-stars?
From my view, I personally don’t care at all because I don’t care about the NBA. I just want our guys to make a living. And have long, productive careers.

@HighEliteMajor And speaking of that, yesterday I read in the Tribune that Milton Doyle has been playing for the Nets. Earning about 10 minutes a game which with his contract means he’s making a nice hourly wage.

I can’t accuse @HighEliteMajor of ever saying that.
I do think, however, that from a recruiting perspective and from a media perspective having All Stars helps. But, our incoming talent for next year is top notch, so maybe that effect is not as necessary right now.
