I concur this loss is a major low. Several situations are working against Chiefs, key injuries on both sides, Alex not playing as well as he was earlier in the season, Reid’s coaching has been suspect - too many bad calls and predictable play calling, many holes in the Defense. I don’t think they can make many adjustments in the next few games. With AFC West so bad this year Chiefs will win the division but it is looking like another season with loss on 1st playoff game.

The Chiefs need a CB desperately. Gaines is not an NFL caliber player.

Chiefs secondary is a complete joke, Peters is feast or famine and as @dylans Gaines isn’t NFL caliber neither is Sorensen.

@kjayhawks I was going to say exactly that but forgot Sorenson’s name. One of the guys who tries to tackle by hitting without trying to grab the guy. Bounces off more often than not while watching his target sprint away, it seems.

I hope Revis has something left in the tank. He should be a huge upgrade over Gaines.

I was at the game today
What a waste of offenseive talented roster, had high hopes that Chiefs will win today but our Defense can’t stop anybody. Every opposing QB looks like Brady. Also Peters is a Butt case, how he was acting on the sidelines after ejection is pathetic

Can’t blame this loss on the QB. Peters needs to be suspended, he is an embarrassment to the franchise.

I thought Smith payed pretty well as did the offense with 31 points but the secondary is terrible and Revis isn’t any good at this stage in his career. The defense really needs a complete overhaul.

That long run Smith had was crazy good. I was hoping he shoved the defender and scored.

Chiefs had a bad draft. Mahomes better be Super Bowl good. Because that is what he cost us this season IMO. We essentially wasted our first 3 picks on two players that basically don’t see the field.

What could have been? The Texans averaged 34.7 points per game with Deshaun Watson starting, compared to 14.7 points per game with Tom Savage as the starter. When Watson got hurt he was on a streak of four straight games with at least three passing touchdowns.
Why did the Chiefs take Mahomes? He’d better pan out! It doesn’t look like Alex’s rope will be very long even though his play isn’t the root of the Chiefs problems. Poor line play and a terrible defense is KC’s downfall.

There is a reason that Peter’s and Kelce fell as far as they did in the draft. The Chiefs have been huge risk takers the past 6 or so seasons, taking extremely risky players. Sometimes it works out great. Look at Houston and Hill. But with the good comes the bad.
Now, I don’t want Peter’s to be gone. I just want him to grow up, or get a coach in here who draws a line in the sand and players understand and respect that. Same goes for Kelce. There is passion and then there is being a complete moron.
You just don’t see these issues with the Packers, Steelers or Patriots. Sure, all of those teams have HOF QBs. But, all three of their careers could have gone completely different directions had they started their careers somewhere else. It is about developing a culture that doesn’t tolerate stupidity or distractions. Once that is in place, the rest takes care of itself.

Peters has always been a troublemaker and a hot head. As a junior Peters was suspended one game for a “sideline tantrum” and he was later dismissed from the team for disciplinary issues. Nothing new with his attitude. I say trade him while he has some value and before he becomes the next Kaepernick.

@JayHawkFanToo I find it semi-comical how the KC Star continues to run articles/columns aimed at propping up Peters. Always trying to tell us how great a guy he is, how misunderstood he is, how we just need to look at it differently. I think four or five such articles this season. Meanwhile, some Redskins player defames our entire town, lies, claims that he was being called the n-word, etc., and they just let it go. They report the claim, but don’t do any journalism to defend the city from the total lies. And the NFL does nothing either. Meanwhile, the same folks in the media slobber all of Kaepernick, who wouldn’t last two minutes debating his positions (whatever they really are). The media are just willing propagandists. Journalism is dead. Great society we live in.

On this we agree 100%. Peters is overrated, he gives receivers a big space always looking for the interception but in the process always gives up yards. I say trade him while he has some perceived value and let him be some other team’s headache.

@JayHawkFanToo That crossing route he got beat on vs. the Jets was exactly what you are referring to. Goal line situation and he just gets smoked on a basic route. Dealing the guy couldn’t come soon enough for me.
