Makes me very happy for Svi and Jayhawk Nation! I do think it is the right decision for him, and believe he and DG should take the reins of leadership for this team, and show the country they deserve to be in the NBA. Another fantastic season to look forward to!!!

@dylans DG does a lot on it and Snacks is always posting stuff on his family and Hudy always has her weight lifting videos. I sometimes look when a link is provided but don’t have an account or whatever you do. How’s your spring? I took a much needed break and went down to the beach for a week - all the way down to South Padre. I got one “Rock Chalk” wearing my 13 straight shirt walking on the beach from a guy who said he had a good friend that had graduated from KU.

@brooksmd Speaking of vacations - give me a hoot & holler when you know if you’ll be in my neck of da woods & we’ll see if we can make it happen… We can always drown worms, flies or even ourselves if we stay close to home… Always great shows for extra entertainment-went to Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Moe Bandy just this past Sunday night, !0 min drive to theatre each way. No hassel, no headache, no problem. Even have a chauffeur if we talk to her right.

Very reassuring news, Svi’s decision to return. Now if the god of good health should favor the Jayhawks, we should step forth with a full squad, starters and strong interchangeable bench. Wily Bill got the scholarship numbers worked out well in advance of this announcement.

The only player that lost in this announcement is Vick. Not that he won’t play a ton regardless but for him showcasing his game in a 30 minute + role would have been ideal for his professional aspirations after his Jr year. Might be the difference in getting him back as a Sr…

It doubt it will be from Devonte, who has tended to passively float through entire halves of games. Who will be the dog? Maybe Devonte will step up. I hope so. Tough to replace Mason in so many ways. His Jr year though wasn’t flashy, he blended on a talented team but took it to another level his Senior year. We all wondered how we would replace Perry Ellis but those concerns left the building pretty quick once the season started. Devonte did the same thing his Jr year (deferring, playing his role) and now has the chance to use the blueprint Mason paved for him. This is Devonte’s team and I’m sure he’ll be eager to live up to those expectations. We have a great blend of NBA talent, veterans and young talent on this squad. Will be very interesting to see how it all meshes

I don’t see the Mason/Josh (TRob had it too) hate to lose mentality in anyone on next year’s team. And, I mean, all players don’t like to lose obviously but I’m talking about that next level crazy. Who steps up in crunch time and gets buckets? I think it’s impossible to know at this time.

This should be his break-out year and I think he has a lot more game to show us. Especially love his ability to drive and finish at the rim as well as his sweet stroke from trey!
So glad I didn’t jinx his return with an early prediction.

@BShark I’m not really so sure. - -You know what? I’m not so sure but what that doesn’t turn out to be DeVonte this year. The last couple of years he been kind of like the complimentary player with Frank and Josh last year. This year his Senior year others looking to him this year more as the leader, Wouldn’t surprise me if he did step up and be that one willing to hit or take that key crucial shot.
He at times disappeared last year BUT was it because he is just that way OR is it because he knew there was others that could/would take it when needed? - -Josh was the closest we have had to a true Alpha for some time, Frank to a some what lesser degree. Now it’s Devonte turn to be the leader, I think the guys will look to him to fulfill that role, and I think he might just do that.
Also to a some what lesser maybe not even lesser I think maybe Newman has that kind of make up that take charge/take over a game type of attitude, those would be my guesses, could be wrong but then again - -I think this will be Devonte team - -time will tell. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
