  @approxinfinity My wife and I were watching as she’s a solid soccer player back in the day The announcers call of the goal was phenomenal….one of the best I’d ever heard (I’m not a soccer guy but his excitement had me on the edge of my seat)

  It was the best Clemence has looked since his freshman season. Fun game. Guys are generally finding their way in the system and, in some ways, they look good simply because this group is shooting better. Next up @Creighton… will be difficult.

  @BShark too many regular season NBA games to be a good product is the main problem. Players take off games since playoff seeding can be a crap shoot, so really just playing for home court advantage which isn’t as important as players being healthy. I generally agree with your sentiment but we have to check our biases with this. A neutral observer could watch a random NBA game vs a random college basketball game and I bet most would say the NBA game is more entertaining. College ball just has better intangibles and better tourney format which puts it over the top for me, but we are also usually watching a top 10 team play. I don’t know that I would say the same thing if I grew up in Boston a Celtics fan who went to a non basketball power college.

The exception being the Kentucky fans I met in 2012 in the SuperDome. I dealt with that group in San Antonio in 2022 with Villanova fans. Those fans generally lived down to the expectations of Philly fans of being total assholes. Vegas is also a major travel destination for rich kids, which Duke has plenty of, looking for a debaucherous time since recreational weed is legal in Nevada, unlike North Carolina amd have plenty of money to blow. Even with that, the students I interacted with fine and not like Missouri, Kentucky, KSU, ISU, or Villanova’s fans.

  @Zabudda We better not think we can go toe-to-toe in a game based on height. I’m hoping we try what we did in our last game and get out and run. We should be willing to try several things to see what works. This Duke team is crazy talented and tall. Not sure their weaknesses. I would think our best shot is to try to control the tempo and find a tempo we do well at and they struggle. Our on-ball and ball screen defense has to be energetic and pesky to disrupt their offense. I know one thing… Self better have stressed rebounding this past week. It’s the key to controlling tempo and possessions. KJ! Come on, brother! Get in there and fight!

  @drgnslayr for sure being a small 2a school we didn’t have a ton of size. I was/am a shade over 6’1 and played forward a lot because at that size I was still taller than half the other players. We had one 6’5 guy that played center for us and he’s a good dude but one of the most uncoordinated guys I’ve ever met lol. I’d just shot fake and dunk on him in practice a couple of times a week. Probably my biggest game was we played Hutch Trinity every year and they had some good players. There 6’7 center ended going to Pitt state and playing for a few years before he had shoulder issues. I held him 7 points and shut him down the last we played them. Its funny because I always joke with my son (9) that the only 3 things he can count on in life is death, Taxes and my jump shot. Admittedly I don’t have a great jumper but I was a really good FT shooter and all district defense. My goal was always to make whomever I was guarding cry because they couldn’t do anything. I was probably a lot like KJ to my team, but I could actually rebound lol. I shot 1/3 in my highschool career from 3 point land. The one I hit I got called for a Technical foul, kid guarding me was running his trap all game (while we were winning by 20 mind you). I hit the shot and told him that was the SBC long distance shot of the game.
