Maybe he could play for KU again. How’s that NIL budget looking? lol
Apparently teams are recruiting the G league guys and somehow signing them. Spoiler alert Izzo is not happy about it. -

He looks like a work in progress… needing to improve lateral pursuit. This is where we get into possible trouble if our calling card becomes athleticism extending on both sides of the ball. On defense, if he’s the weak link we can waste the efforts of 4 athletic defenders because of one slow guy. I say that, but I’m also reading he has a good sense of the game and has good skills finishing at the rim (not just dunking). We need to see more of him to understand his potential. I don’t want to be the one prejudging his potential.
I wouldn’t have any one and done guys on my list…
3 bigs: Withey, TRob, Doke
3 guards: Frank, Devonte, (Senior)Tyshawn
3 other guys: Ellis, Svi and Garrett
3 other other guys: BMac, Traylor and Teahan (either one)

They run absolutely zero plays for Zach.
Yeah he’s a high screen and pop guy in that offense. Chandler seemed like he wanted to be option 1-5 in this tournament…
@Texas-Hawk-10 That was the worst inbound strategy and execution I have ever seen.
“Okay, we want the ball in the hands of the best shooter we have ever had for the last shot. So, let’s start with her tiny self in the lane and see what happens as our inbounder worries because no one is open, then looks away when our shooter gets open so she has to pass it while McD is running away from the basket. That way, our shooter will have to go back toward the basket drawing everbody in the arena to defend her. What could go wrong?”

I’m going to end up tied for 3rd this year.
In one of my ESPN tournament brackets I am at 93 % and buried no where to be seen lol - -hell I’m thinking 93 % isn’t bad - - not so fast my friends lol
@Kcmatt7
Definitely on the “leadership occurs naturally” comment.
I don’t think your scorer down the stretch is necessarily your leader. I’d say your play maker is usually your leader, whether that player is the scorer or feeding the ball to the scorer. We always called our last second shooter “money” and he got to wear that tag all year.
The game seems to be different today. In the “good ol’ days” your leader was typically your PG, just like in football your quarterback was your leader. So many responsibilities fell on that role. It started off the court, and the leader would often babysit the troops and helped keep them out of trouble. On the court… the leader needed to read defenses and know how to attack them. The leader was also a play maker in creating easy finishes for other, usually by the pass. The leader was a cheerleader throughout the game. The leader gave out constant chatter. The leader kept the coach’s message alive with the troops. The leader was animated and drew most all of the attention.
This is why I asked about today’s players. What if a guy comes around that has all of this to offer? Would his teammates follow? I don’t know. We are in such a different time today. The message is so much about equality that it may cast shade on leadership.
I’d really like someone young, say 18 or 19 comment on this with their perspective of life today. Sometimes I work with youth on projects and it feels different today. I’m not being negative on youth… just trying to figure them out!
@nuleafjhawk
I’m working hard on this! lol
I will say that Gonzaga plays perhaps the best “textbook basketball” I have ever seen on the college level. (total jinx comment) (I’m working it hard!)
Self on Roy:
“Roy Williams has been an icon in our industry for the last 33 years, and his retirement is very well deserved,” Self said. “Roy won at the highest level and projected first-class while doing so. To have the opportunity to follow him here at the University of Kansas and see firsthand the type of program he ran was an honor of a lifetime. Congratulations to him on a Hall of Fame career and for the lasting impact he has had on our sport.”
There’s a reason Ochainwas rated as low as he was and it’s because of his skill level. Agbaji is probably the best athlete on the team but one of the lowest basketball IQ’s as well.
Creighton is in the same conference as Villanova, UConn, and Georgetownbwhich are all programs that can recruit top 50 talent with relative ease. Creighton elevating their recruiting shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Same deal with Wichita St. being able to recruit a different caliber of player once they moved to the AAC.
Hate to see guys leave, but I’m not sure if I remember a player leaving and think KU or the player would have been better off with him still here. AWIII and Grimes… are those the two most successful? Frankamp? Milton Doyle? Find the right fit. Bitter guys poison the entire locker room.
Tristan just seemed to be putting in the time to ultimately play back in Europe, which is fine, but I never saw any passion for the US college game.

That’s a college football player that’s not a basketball player
BShark just playing he knows that , just messin with People to see the response - -and it was a good one lmao
Q had a hard time adjusting too. He’s young for his class (didn’t turn 19 until May of his FR year) so it wasn’t the easiest transition for him. Which happens. About 1/5 freshmen transfer nationwide. No hard feelings.
