I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
@approxinfinity I’m able to post things and it shows other members posts but they are like says 4 days old or 10 days old or whatever, I can respond to them but it doesn’t show updated posts

Next year is looking good.
Hope this year’s team will gel with so many newcomers and no size in the paint.
you watch any of the Iowa game last night ? what you are talking about height being a problem showed up. Look like just about anytime Iowa needed a basket they went inside , so ya looks like it. Having said that though as crazy as it sounds even though ew got beat - -I thought personally it was the best we have looked all year. I dunno , just like the flow of the game for them was so much better…
Can’t say for sure but I’m afraid come time for league pllay it might be a long year fo us this year with so many new comers. , we lost a lot of key players from lat yr As for next yr hard not tol not get excited with the talent we got coming in plus the returning group.
We got the # one player coming out of the State of Oklahoma - – We got the # one player coming out of the State of Kansas - -Both Gatorade Players of the year , the # 17 - - -& # 21 rnked players – -three in the top fifty plus our 5 Star that will be a Junior-- things gonna be ok
Well Dam , that was discourgaging. They just got out played 24/26-- - - - 25/20— -20/25 - - -& 25/27 -close but no cigar, was playing from behind most the night.

My son is the setter for his high school team. Gonna have to see if we can catch the KU games here. ESPN?
Maybe but doubtful - - -KU ladies most of their’s have been ESPN + – - two games one on ESPNU --the other was on ESPN 2
The fountain is being rebuilt from the ground up over the winter. It needed a total recast of the base and replacement of the plumbing system. It is set to be ready for graduation 2025.

Wow , didn’t see that coming- -things that make you go hmmmmm
At the pace Virginia plays I bet he tried to retire at the end of last season, but just now got it done.
Now you play nice or you can just take your ball and go home lol
Well the Ladies won tonight- -wish I could say they look sharp but they didn’t–kind of sleep walking for most the night. Think maybe they wasn’t taking Colorado serious enough.
Yet they won Match 3----- -1 --25/22 - – 18/25 — 28/26 -then played their best game in he last one - -25/11 . - -In the third set they were up 24/18 and CU rattled off six straight points, before you rebounded to win.-- Bottom line they hung tough even though not playing their best, won 3-----1- -and 12 ----1 on the Season & ranked – 8th in the Nation – & 3-----0 in Conference , next up WV— Good Job Ladies

Still thankful he didn’t just heave something up at the end of that elite eight game lol
From the original post, I actually prefer the remake of True Grit over the original because I hated the Mattie character in the original and wanted her to die because she came across as such a whiny brat. I much preferred Hailee Steinfeld’s performance because she made Mattie more sympathetic and likeable.
