I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
BR is too intertwined with sports gambling for my taste. I don’t want my sports news reports flooded with that crap. TA does some odds and predictions, but I do not question their independence from sponsors.

Just wanted to send out a Get Well Soon to all of you who have to deal with the virus and other issues. I’ve been lucky so far, but know that these days even the most cautious of us can have something hit unexpectedly.
As we prepare here for a rare Christmas snowfall tonight I decided to stay home today, but I’ve been able to enjoy the holiday with the help of my family and friends, online and off.
Sending out a great big Northwest “thanks” to all of you. Merry Christmas, and a better New Year !
Merry Christmas my friend
@approxinfinity The N95 masks require a certified manufacturing process that involves blowing extraordinarily tiny fibers onto a mold in, I think, 3 layers that are ionically charged to grab particulates. Not simple!
It’s moving faster than I expected. I figured we would see a huge spike after Christmas. To see this even before Christmas makes me worry about populations that still aren’t vaxxed. Extreme risk their. Stay safe everyone. Mask up if you aren’t doing so. Be careful and avoid big gatherings.
Tough end to a great season, losing to Pitt in straight sets. Still, with a young team, there’s lots to look forward to next year.
Congrats to the ladies and Coach Bechard !
Seen a really great piece on Senator Dole & his wife & their marriage off CBS news this morning. Today would of been the 48th yr I believe they said Wedding Anniversary awesome , talking about how they met , her Career , NOW she said in all the time they were together they NEVER really had a really heated yelling agrument but overall just really interesting piece, and got to see a little of his humor during the interview
@FarmerJayhawk oh geez! I’m guessing you still had good strong antibodies? I had terrible chills and low grade fever after my second shot. I couldn’t stop shaking, then my calves cramped from all that shaking. My booster was zero side effects.
I respect OU. Even when it was Neb and OU dominating the big 8, we tended to play better against OU and they tended to show better sportsmanship than Neb.
One of these days, we will be competitive again. I will especially enjoy the next time we beat OSU at Stillwater after this game.
I just don’t see how this setup holds up long term. Having three schools (WVU, Cincy, UCF) on EST and one (BYU) on MST will make scheduling and travel a nightmare for basketball. I would have preferred adding a school like Memphis or Tulane to BYU for that reason alone.
I give it five years before we are back at this point again.
